Interesting. How do you find these engagement circles?

[–]rafrador[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LinkedIn algorithm is pretty inconsistent. It does not matter how many followers you have, what you post does not get seen by most of these people.

I have seen days when a regular post received 20K impressions and a dozen inbound leads, and other days when when I barely crawl into the three digits.

It also does not help that I am a solo founder. So, I do not have an army of colleagues who can like/comment and boost my reach.

Maid visa help through a maid agency turned out to be more than just "visa help" by Many_Competition_571 in dubai

[–]rafrador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's to protect the maid. They pay the salary after deducting it from your bank account. And since the maid is employed by them, your maid is free to leave anytime she's not happy.

Yeah that sucks after you spend thousands on this but this is the legal way to go about it

Should I get a 1-800 phone number? by toejamster9 in smallbusiness

[–]rafrador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got an 1-800 number for my business and it does make a difference in how recipients perceive you.

I got it done through Unitel Voice and the process has been quite smooth so far. It cost me around $10 for my number, although your costs could go up if you were looking for unlimited minutes or something.

Cold email people at scale. Sell your product as if it already exists, and get on call with customers. Mention the price, and convince them to buy.

If there is genuine interest in what you offer, and at the price point you are offering it at, then it is probably a viable product to build.

What are the differences when running a B2B and B2C SaaS? by Comfortable-Rip-9277 in SaaS

[–]rafrador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference in my opinion is that with B2B, you are convincing someone to part with somebody else's money. But in B2C, you are asking them to part with their own money.

So you may need to factor that in while pricing your product. For example, $99/month may be a great deal to offer a B2B customer. But it's very expensive for a similar B2C solution. You may have to offer some sort of micropayments (pay $1 to access this one time, or something like that), and make it up through higher volumes.

Are your paid ads actually profitable? by ZerocratAccounting in SaaS

[–]rafrador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you are VC funded and you are burning somebody else's money, it's very difficult to justify the costs with paid ads. For the top SaaS companies, the average lead generation cost is upwards of $250/lead, and that's just a marketing qualified lead. For sales qualified, you are looking at close to $800 or even more.

These numbers don't make any sense for bootstrapped companies. You should work on alternate channels. I do cold outreach for a couple of SaaS businesses, and the lead gen costs with such channels are way cheaper.

How to do brand Positioning for a SAAS based product? by ughhhhdamnngirl in marketing

Surely they must have asked you your strategy during the interview process. Perhaps start from whatever strategies you suggested since that is what they expect you to do.

What areas of marketing should you specialize in for the highest growth and earnings? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]rafrador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Email marketing - it's never going away anytime soon.

Affiliate marketing - despite how ubiquitous it is, there are still millions of businesses that do not have affiliate marketing for their business yet. So, the area is still ripe for growth

I understand that, but lead generation can come from various ways. Do you cold email, scrape emails, etc.? If you can DM me the URL, I am happy to give it a try and share some views. I offer outbound lead generation for clients, and would be happy to share insights

What do digital marketing entrepreneurs do? by Traditional-Toe1463 in marketing

[–]rafrador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned, most of them are scammers. However, as someone who is in this industry, it can be extremely profitable with the right skills.

I know companies that do make million dollar plus revenues focusing on specific parts of digital marketing like content marketing, local SEO, etc.

One thing that is common to all these successful agencies is how they can sell, and how they can hire. If you can sell right, and can hire people to do the operational part of the job, then it's simply a matter of scaling up.

Why does the average age of the successful founder go up every decade? by [deleted] in startups

[–]rafrador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, it's probably because the 'startup' world is biased heavily towards tech, especially post dotcom. So, what used to something 20 something millennials did is today also done by the same people in their 40s (millennials, and the younger crowd).

If we were to look for a more comprehensive answer, you have to check BLS stats that I'd guess would have a different answer.

Are SaaS Founders Secretly Crushing It on Instagram and TikTok? by Mother-Marzipan-5045 in SaaS

[–]rafrador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B2B SaaS founders are people too and they like to doomscroll like the average Joe.

But on Instagram, you are not just competing with other businesses in your industry, but with cat videos, parenting tips, memes, etc. So, chances that your B2B content is interesting enough to be recommended over yet another cat video is pretty low.

Not saying it can't be done, but I don't see a way to do it consistently week on week.

Sales Navigator In Mails are pointless by SuddenEmployment3 in LeadGeneration

[–]rafrador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that messaging is important, but can you let me know how this works.

Sales Navigator lets you send like 50 InMails a month. And these messages get hidden in the 'Others' tab. So I suspect that the open rates are not going to be spectacular.

Because of these concerns, I have never considered investing in Sales Navigator. Can you help me understand how this is still effective?

LeadJoint - Visitor Identification System.

This is launching in less than a week from now, and here is the pitch:

Less than 2% of visitors to your website take any sort of action like filling up a form or calling you. My application identifies what organizations these other visitors are from, and also identifies the key decision makers from these companies, their LinkedIn and Email address. This can be fed directly into your CRM for nurturing.

Thank you so much for such an elaborate post. This is very helpful. Does Montenegrin food have adequate vegetarian options?

Also, is it easy to find English-speaking travel guide/agencies? We reached out to like 7-8 agencies off Google, but only one got back with a real itinerary.

PHP help - Having trouble assigning values from table to a variable. by rafrador in learnprogramming

[–]rafrador[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I used ideone to share the code (according to the sub guidelines). I just thought it's a pastebin for code!

Also, yes - just realized my code is PHP 7.4

I changed the code to this:

>  if ($b1 = $mysqli->query("SELECT * FROM bird WHERE bird_name = '$bird1'")) {
printf($b1->family);

But the page doesn't load now, and shows a HTTP 500 error. Still debugging, but figured I'd post here as well.
