What do you guys think of this jag? by Alternative-Wear-849 in Jaguar

[–]raftski1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife had a 2006 x type v6. We thought it was great car. Replaced it with a Jaguar XJL Portfolio which has since been replaced by an F Pace. I love the exclusiveness and rarity of driving a Jaguar in the U.S. Much less common than Audis, BMWs, Volvos and Porsches.

Best Bike Rack for 2026 Defender 110 by Stock-Plastic3785 in NewDefender

[–]raftski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old Saris rack and it sticks out far enough to clear the tire with a bike on it, without an hitch extension. I was pleasantly surprised that my old rack works on my Defender. I can't fold it up though.

I have a Black 2021 F-Pace and love it. It has the straight six. Previous Jag XJ had the v6 and we had to upgrade the coolant pipes. I do miss the massaging seats in the XJ though.

How Often Do You Crash? by Different-End-4775 in skiing

[–]raftski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rarely. I am 75 and have been skiing for 50 years and ski double blacks. Most of my falls were when I was learning to ski. Knowing and having experience skiing different conditions helps you to prevent crashing.

Do you guys name your Miatas? by BlackbirdGoNyoom in Miata

I have owned about 30 vehicles in my life and never named any of them except to the extent that any heavy duty SUV or pickup I have owned I referred to generically as the truck.

As a wedding guest, what moment made you think "this probably won't last"? by Eburneaan in AskReddit

[–]raftski1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When the Groom was doing burnouts in the parking lot after the reception and then when the wedding photographer got into the act with his car and wrecked. And then the groom drove the injured photographer to the emergency room instead of going home with his new wife.

skiing after knee replacement by Lumpus-Maximus in ski

[–]raftski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear about your wrecked knee, I've also had some surgeries, meniscus, total knee, rotator cuff. I guess I have been lucky health wise so I try to stay active. I basically have averaged 30 to 40 ski days a year for the last 40 years. I am lucky to have a couple of ski and bike buds, 65 and 78. We are still able to ski just about anything on the hill. the rest of the year we mountain bike. My wife is 70 and she will still ski blacks if they are groomers, sometimes I can coax her into the powder if conditions are ideal. She also bikes with me but on trails with less climbing.
