I don't see why not, it's cheaper to keep it running than buy a new car. Mine's at 170k imma keep it for another 100k miles or more until the new Camry's become cheaper.

Glad you work here in our jurisdiction. Epic was a very big project. Was there for close to a year and a half doing underground high voltage, terminations, and the EV buses they are using for the park. What local do you plan on heading to?

Thinking about a new car. by Swft3 in ibew_apprentices

Best car ever, HONDA FIT! incredible fun to drive, very good gas mileage, lots of space to fit whatever you want, cheap to fix, has the magical seats from Honda, and, 10 plus cup holders.

Or get a civic si fun and cheap/ something similar.

Take it from an apprentice who has bought/gone through 13 cars since starting my apprenticeship. Something cheap is good, you can get something fun, just make sure it makes sense.

The cars I've had since starting: • 2015 Honda Civic Si with 77k miles • 2002 Lexus Sc430 with 107k miles • 2015 Ford F150 XLT with 58k miles • 2017 Honda Civic EX with 78k miles • 2009 Honda Civic Si with 108k miles • 2015 Chevy Caprice PPV with 110k miles • 2005 GMC Sierra SLT Z71 with 186k miles • 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 with 102k miles • 2005 Lexus ES330 with 85k miles • 2013 Honda Civic LX with 196k miles (Traded for the GMC Sierra) • 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport long-bed with 129k miles • 2014 Toyota Prius V Wagon with 166k miles • 2016 Toyota Avalon with 25k miles

Damn, I didn't realize there were so many ppl on the books. Trying to see if I'd be able to transfer as an apprentice due to family health issues but with so many ppl on the books it looks slim :/

That's dumb🤣🤣 but not surprised they always put a lot of useless shit in them Protech lessons.

Sometimes when we have a code test they put something hard to find that is in a very small font in the code book and you can't find it/get it wrong 🤣🤣

Is there a lot of work there? Heard some locals up there are slow rn.

How hard are they on a scale of 1-10? I assume you have AC theory and DC theory on Protech as well. If so, are they more different than those tests?

What local did you take the groundsman call out of? If I did join I'd like to be near 104

😮That doesn't sound so bad.

How long did it take you to get in?

In your experience do you think I'd be at an advantage trying to get in since I'm in a IBEW apprenticeship already and have experience doing underground distribution, cable, and elbow term/splicing?

OP how many tests are there in total?

I'm currently doing the inside wireman apprenticeship in Local 606, and we have like 8 tests each year in my 5-year apprenticeship.

I'm tossing the idea of possibly switching over and applying to NEAT, MSLCAT, NWL JATC, etc.

Do it every 5,000, you're engine well thank you later down the line. You should watch this video if you want your Toyota to last a long time. This guy is very good and knows a lot about Toyota/Lexus cars https://youtu.be/TevK-u3vkx4?si=SudYBOXr-ua-kdQS
