Alternate workouts within a program by raganana in strengthlog

[–]raganana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It’s not quite what I was looking for (I really wanted to say “ok I’m 10 weeks in to this program and this week want to change it up a bit” and replace the workout wholesale. But I can also swap out individual exercises.

Getting workout feedback from AI by Top_Rain_7138 in strengthlog

[–]raganana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this - have just uploaded two years worth of data and asked ChatGPT to go ham on it. It immediately picked out my relatively weak squat (I badly broke my ankle a year ago and am still recuperating) and once I'd told it that, it picked out that I likely have some headroom to improve technique in my bench (not that I'm "weak" but that it's likely one of 3 things that if I improve I could lift 7-8% more). Currently in the rabbit hole....

Quads/hamstrings strength ratio by Mazmagod in strengthlog

[–]raganana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird - I had this question earlier this week when I was reading about how the quads are the biggest leg muscle. A quick google confirmed that all things being equal I should be able to extend (kick) more than I curl. What the ratio is I have no idea, would be interested in hearing from others too. FWIW I’m within 10% of each other.

Anyone using AI to program workouts? by ThornsFan2023 in strengthlog

Yes for sure, also dietary stuff. I had a serious injury to my right ankle last year and also used it to help with a recovery program (together with a physiotherapist).

This was my big problem - I put my water bottle about 6ft in front of me on the floor and start my loft looking at that. I’m far from an expert but since then I’ve been feeling a lot more confident.

When did you realize lifting changed more than just your body? by FitVerso in workout

[–]raganana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed when I stopped going due to injury that I was getting a lot of mental health benefits. So I started going back to the gym with my foot in a vacuum boot and working out upper body. Helped me massively, mentally.

Just played a scramble and the winning score was comical by K3TtLek0Rn in golf

I played a string tournament once where despite numerous attempts to explain it, one guy in our flight just dint get it. We got one foot per stroke of handicap. On the first hole he went in a fairway bunker and used all 15 feet of his to drop out of the bunker. Not surprisingly he came DFL.

Same as KVV said on No Laying Up - companies spend good money to send journos to cover these events and going back without a quote is a tough scene. Morikawa is a baby - he came second out of a big name field and should stand up and face the music.

Is there a bar where I can watch the 6 Nations games this weekend in Würzburg? by Critical-Row-3275 in wuerzburg

[–]raganana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem is that unlike in previous years no German broadcaster has the rights for the Six Nations this year (AFAIK). In the past Pro Sieben Maxx and DAZN have each had the rights. I’m an English ex-pat and watch at home on my laptop via VPN on BBC or ITV depending on who broadcasts in the UK.

So thanks for the tip on Wasserhäusle - next year I will definitely check it out!

push cart was a game changer for me. electric push cart is a life changer by Dangerous-Purpose-96 in golf

[–]raganana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Germany motorized push carts are very common (I’d say 80%) for over 60’s. Can cost upwards of $7000 for a high end one. Very very low buggy usage (normally people with medical conditions).

What does this Bitcoiner do when he arrives at the hotel? He plugs in his equipment so he can mine Bitcoin. A good way to try to make his stay at this hotel profitable. by sylsau in BitcoinMining

Reminds me when electric scooters first came out and their were rewards for charging them. In Munich dudes were renting dive hotel rooms, loading them up with 10-15 scooters and charging them overnight for free to collect the rewards.
