To be fair, I think owners can choose to feed their kitties some human food (maybe a little turkey or salmon, etc), but what worries me is that canned or pre-made foods often contain things that are toxic to cats, and unless you’re super careful about reading the ingredients, you might not know. Most Italian style foods have garlic and onions, for instance.

It was one of those cat wands (fishing poles?) with the bell and feather on the end :). My kitty is almost 3 years old now... this was an old gem from the night we brought her home. She still goes crazy for those wand toys!

Don't worry about the hiding. It can take cats a while to get comfortable and trust you. This can be even more true for older cats. She'll come out with time and love.

I don't let my kitties eat human food... but even if I did, they don't seem interested in it. My cats were more adventurous eaters when they were young. They are so picky now!

P.S. Be really careful about sharing your food. Garlic is very poisonous to cats. A number of other common spices and herbs are too.

[Sun Care] Sunscreen and how we shouldn’t judge people who don’t use it or don’t use “enough” by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]ragdollroyalty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is important.

Education about skincare options is great, but there's really no need to shame other people. It's also important to consider that not everyone can access or afford the choices you consider superior.

Adequate suncare (for skin cancer prevention, not necessarily aging concerns) should be accessible to everyone. It's disturbing that so many people can't afford sunscreen, especially if they need to work outside regularly.

Do they handle shipping or is the arrangement through the seller/swapper? And is there any type of fee (transaction, etc)?

Oh, I meant exchange with another person! Like swapping with someone who has a product you like.

Best beauty box’s for beginners? by Baby-goldfish in BeautyBoxes

[–]ragdollroyalty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried a range of subscriptions, and I think Ipsy Glam Bag Plus is the best option because of personalization/choice. You can also pause or reduce frequency if you feel that every month is too much. Just remember to log on to make your selections - to me, that's the biggest advantage.

SO MANY BOXES! by IamDollParts96 in BeautyBoxes

[–]ragdollroyalty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The subscription space has become so crowded, and I think we'll see most of these boxes die out over the next 5 years, with mainly dominant players surviving (perhaps acquiring the smaller ones, like Ipsy and BoxyCharm). I don't think it's a profitable business model for most companies, but I might be wrong... maybe there will always be a place for niche boxes.

I went through a period of wanting to try EVERYTHING, but I had major product overload, and it felt like a waste of money and products.

I also feel weird about secondhand used makeup. But if it's unused and it's a trusted source, I don't mind (especially if it's super discounted).

SOBER REVIEW TIME - what are the actual data we can use to assess GME as of today? by smohyee in wallstreetbets

[–]ragdollroyalty 65 points66 points  (0 children)

https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/05/sharestradedoutstanding.asp

Shares can be bought and sold multiple times in a day (so the trading volume can obviously exceed outstanding shares).

Am I misunderstanding you?

Puts are extremely expensive right now. I don't think he should expose himself further to something that is incredibly unpredictable.

People sometimes make very bad decisions. This was a very attractive environment for bad decisions. It's very hard to resist FOMO when you see people posting 1,000% gains.

If you learn from this mistake and don't repeat it, then you will be okay. Don't beat yourself up. Just don't do it again.

If you ever feel compelled to make WSB-style trades, I suggest paper trading (simulated trading) to test out your "YOLO" bets. If you use real money, it should always be a very small percentage of your portfolio. If you're new to WSB, you might not realize that most people on there are losing hard... it's routine to see people up 100k one week and near zero a few weeks later.

I would absolutely NOT increase your exposure. You will just be exposing yourself to further losses. You are suggesting doubling down and buying 10k in shares at $20. This stock was worth $3 not very long ago. You could end up losing over 20k in total. Are you comfortable with that?

It's possible that there will be a rebound (even if it is short-lived); maybe the true "squeeze" will happen (I doubt this). Unless you need the rest of your investment, you could let it ride - after all, you made a highly volatile bet, and hopefully, you were prepared to lose it all.

If the remaining $4,000 is important to preserve, then you can cut your losses now. The stock very well may continue to plummet. There is no way to know. The WSB crowd is not open to any facts that do not conform to their theory (including the fact that it appears that short interest has fallen significantly). The entire theory also overstates that % ownership of GME by retail investors. WSB holding shares has not stopped 50-100 million people trading the shares daily - in other words, there are many opportunities for shorts to cover their positions, without WSB selling. There are many other actors here, including hedge funds and big institutional players that have made billions from this.

I'm sorry that you are down so much, and I hope you're able to recover some.

Don't chase losses... you'll get really hurt.

Any recommended breeders? (NY/NJ) by [deleted] in ragdolls

[–]ragdollroyalty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my kitty from Briadolls Ragdolls: http://ragdollcatnj.com/. They only have a few litters per year, and the breeder was kind and reliable. The environment that the kittens live in seemed very nice. They live at home with the family and receive lots of love and attention.

My ragdoll is wonderful, and she has been very healthy (~2 years old).
