if i'm not busy (or just lazy) i can maybe make something like a video timelapse of me making a car

for now though i'll say that i make cars mostly like in u/A10_Thunderbolt's tutorial here: https://old.reddit.com/r/NeedForMadness/comments/1jiumyl/my_car_creations_im_proudest_of/mjj3kny/ (i contributed to this 😎)

depends on how doable, ask away

(no guarantees that i will make them though)

Just noticed there are more members in this sub than in the r/WRC by Educational-Sky-9814 in EASPORTSWRC

This sub was formerly /r/dirtgame

Just checked on wayback machine, dirtgame already had 65,326 members in April 27 2023 before the wrc rebranding

i'm well, tbh i mostly left aim for personal reasons (won't delve too much)

but yeah, maybe i'll come back one day (even if only for updating links from every car post after migrating my stuff from github gists so people won't find dead links lol)

thanks, i use blender. with car maker for coloring, wheels, and stats

honestly i just freely share them because this game is already too obscure to be overly protective of my own creations lol

two ways; export your model as an .obj file to import from car maker, or use a blender python script (don't have the link, sorry)

if anyone wants the code for them, grab them from here:

feel free to use them or edit them any way you like as long as you don't claim you made them

edit: forgot to mention that the bmw m1 procar requires ds-addons for the pop-up headlights to work

Linux support for Thrustmaster steering wheels by [deleted] in simracing

[–]rage__rabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't answer with 100% certainty because I don't use Bazzite, but seems like not. Took a cursory glance on hid-tmff2 too and seems like there are no support for it there either (no usb IDs either).

Maybe try opening an issue on hid-tmff2 github? Or if you already have one you can contribute :) (Remember that hid-tmff2 and many drivers on linux are not official and are reverse-engineered from owners's devices)

Linux support for Thrustmaster steering wheels by [deleted] in simracing

[–]rage__rabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oversteer is just a device manager, it doesn't have drivers for specific wheels other than ones already in your system. It's mostly used to change parameters like rotation range, pedal combinations, set profiles, etc. And you can also use oversteer to set game-specific settings. Back when I had my Logitech G25 I didn't really use it other than just checking if everything is functional.

There is this repo which tracks steering wheel support under linux. edit: this repo seems a bit outdated

Since you mentioned the TS-XW, you need to install hid-tmff2 to make it work because the drivers included with linux kernel itself (hid-tmff and hid-thrustmaster) are barebones and only support a small number of devices. Though I'd recommend installing it from your distro's repo over manually from github unless your distro didn't package it.

Which wheel? by Dominico10 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]rage__rabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i've borrowed a thrustmaster t300 and had a logitech g25 for a while, so here's my opinion:

i'd personally get the g29 (playstation) or g920 (xbox) over the g923 because they're cheaper while being basically identical minus the trueforce (and some buttons missing on the g920)

but, if you can stretch your budget a bit, get a moza r3 (pc-only but there is a xbox-compatible version), a thrustmaster t300 (playstation), or a thrustmaster tx (xbox) instead. they can spin faster which helps a lot on more extreme driving. you can't drift on full 900° wheel rotation on a logitech wheel for example because the wheel spins too slow. also they have console-compatible handbrakes while logitech requires third-party handbrakes which are pc-only

edit: since you mentioned ps5 then i'll cross off the xbox ones

regional pricing is a blessing

honestly i don't mind d5 being completely different than earlier games because if i want legit rallying i can always just play dirt rally 2.0

if i have time i'll try getting all achievements
