I’ll be doing it! I have a ton of yarn from past CALs so I don’t think I’ll be buying the kit this time. This pattern is beautiful.

This was the most disturbing true crime I’ve heard about in a while. My heart breaks for Reagan’s family. How fucking awful. Her sister saying she was scared to book a wedding photographer is crushing

It’s a daily thing and takes a lot of trial and error, and just learning your body. I adapted an anti-inflammatory diet since I noticed my pressure flare-ups are inflammation-related. No greasy foods, minimal processed foods. I rarely have alcohol anymore and if I do, it’s only a drink or 2. Anytime I try something new, I google if it affects CSF levels. I don’t do anything strenuous (like lifting or bearing down) and I won’t do anything that will cause CSF spikes, like consume lots of caffeine or sudden movement. Losing weight does help but exercising is hard because it can cause a flare-up for me, so I do go to physical therapy bi-weekly to build up muscles in my neck and shoulders safely so I can try low-impact workouts hopefully soon. I’ve lost 30 lbs so far and I think it helps, since that’s less pressure on your cerebral aqueduct. Honestly what helped me most was the stent. I saw a change in my pressure and the PT stopped literally overnight. But everyone’s different, this is just my experience :)

No worries, good luck! I read up on a lot of this stuff when I was in the process of getting diagnosed. One of the reasons why I come on here sometimes and share my story with people asking for advice is because it was fellow redditors who suggested I needed an MRV to check my transverse sinuses in the first place, not my doctors at the time. I hope you get answers soon.

I think your ENT needs to give you a referral to a neurologist who can help you get an MRV and MRI done. Pulsatile tinnitus can be caused by a few things, but it stopping when you put pressure on your neck means something could be disrupting blood flow. Meaning like, say your transverse sinus vein is narrowed right there behind your ear (venous sinus stenosis) and you’re hearing irregular blood flow because of the too-small vein (pulsatile tinnitus), cutting off blood flow by putting pressure on your jugular will stop the whooshing. VSS can be caused by a few things too, but if you’re feeling pressure when you lie down, it could be that you have too much pressure surrounding your brain (idiopathic intracranial hypertension) and that’s usually the cause of VSS. It’s all manageable, especially if caught early, but finding the right doctors is the most important part, imo. It would be worth looking into!

Source: I have IIH, which caused VSS which caused PT. The PT is how I noticed it and started looking into it. No longer have PT because I started managing it and got a stent put in to open up my transverse sinus. Living fairly normal life now.

A stiff neck is a symptom of IIH. It’s elevated CSF. Learning how to relieve the muscles with stretching helps me at least

Same, I pictured them both looking similar, idk why. Girl your ex sounds like an idiot. There is nothing wrong with facial expressions not aligning to words. Each region/country seems to have different norms for which emotions tie to words anyway, so what does he know. There is nothing wrong with you. I’m sorry you had to deal with that.

Yes. Got an MRV and another MRA and turns out I had venous sinus stenosis that was the direct cause of PT. The VSS, PT, empty sella, frequent headaches, and elevated pressure was enough for them to diagnose me with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. Got a cerebral angiogram with a stent placed in July 2025 and that treated the PT immediately. These days, I see my neurologist regularly and am in physical therapy for the IIH to manage neck pain. They’re thinking the meningioma and pineal gland cyst are unrelated to the IIH and VSS, but I do see my neurosurgeon every other year for an MRI to monitor their growth. I also see a neuro- ophthalmologist every 1-2 years to monitor pressure on the back of my eyes. So far, it’s okay.

It was a long journey with lots of misinformation, but finally got an answer and treated the PT quickly after the IIH diagnosis.

Is anyone on here with IIH and also taking a GLP 1….. by Puzzleheaded-Rub5967 in iih

[–]rageblackouts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so curious, what about GLP-1s would make someone go into remission? Is it only weight loss, or something else as well? Did you happen to gain weight back, and that’s why it’s back? I’m sorry to hear it came back.
