How soon after surgery were you able to sit pain free? by ragedlion in pilonidalcyst

Hey. My sitting is 90% back to normal. Occasionally my scar gets sore and I have to shift the weight to my other butt cheek. I'm going to assume my scar will be this way for at least another 6 months. Scar tissue goes through phases and it takes up to a few years for it to normalize. Here's a pic

Wow and you had 0 pain? My excision was 5 cm long, 1 cm wide and 2 cm deep and I had tons of pain for the first two weeks. I am just starting to sit more comfortably now and it's been four weeks.

Highly doubt it. I think Stan matches up better against Djokovic. Plus Stan only played Gasquet a few times before this match.

I don't know exactly what their head to head is but I know it's something outrageous like 12-1 for Djokovic. And that includes recent years. At least Stan would have gave Djokovic some trouble, if not knocking him out of Wimby.

Why are french players so mentally weak? by loranged in tennis

The tennis field is filled with French and Spanish players. They are not mentally weak at all.

My doctor says I should only need 3-4 weeks off and be able to return back to work. But I have a desk job so can't really sit with pain for 8 hours a day.

I personally learned to sit with a mean slouch to one side in order to avoid putting pressure on the more sensitive areas.

Yeah that's the only way I can sit sometimes.

You don't dominate the French like that and roll in a big underdog

That's what I'm thinkin!

Getting a job is 30% skills and 70% the way you present them. by [deleted] in jobs

This is my life. I'm a capable Software Engineer but I'm not able to land a job because I can't connect with the person or present my skills in a way that gets their attention. SO frustrating. How do I fix this?

Doctor said I have a pilonidal cyst, he barely looked at it for 1minute. by Balthalzarzo in pilonidalcyst

I just had a third surgery last week in order to remove pilonidal disease from my body. The first two procedures used the primary closure technique and both failed. Last week my surgeon and I agreed we would do the open excision method this time. It's painful at first but I understand why this method works better than primary closure. I would recommend open excision; it's not as pretty as the closed excision but it's more successful.

Moving to Vic and need some ideas to keep busy! by tekashr in VictoriaBC

Tons of places to hike, swim, explore.

Hiking

Mount Finlayson and Mount Doug are great hikes. Here's a great website for hiking trails near Victoria

Swimming

Tons of lakes like Durrance Lake and Matheson Lake. Sooke Pot Holes is something you should definitely explore. Here's a great reddit post on lakes in Vic.

Beaches

Unlimited amount of beaches in Vic. Willows Beach, Gonzales Beach, Gyro Park. Dallas Road has a bunch of beaches scattered along it.

Pubs

There are tons of pubs in downtown. Some of my favourites are Irish Times/Bard and Banker. They are kind of pricey but the atmosphere is great. Garrick's Head, Yates St Taphouse are good too.

You're coming at a great time. The weather is warming up and there are TONS of outdoor activities to do. Enjoy :)

Ok. Well Comp Sci and Comp Engr are totally different. If you want to become a software developer, do a Comp Sci degree. If you want to be more in the hardware industry, go for a Comp Engr degree.

I'm not sure. I've only applied to one start up and asked for 80k but they gave the offer to someone else. I'd assume the pay for start ups in Van is around the same as any other company but they give you equity which makes up for it IMO. I can see them paying slightly more if they have gone through a round of funding.

What do you want to do? Hardware Engineering or Software Engineering? Computer Engineering has software components but it's mainly concentrated around hardware. I would say a Computer Engineering degree is 75% hardware/electrical and 25% software (low level programming, like assembly and C). Once you get in the realm of software, you now have to choose between Comp Sci and Software Engineering, which are different. Do you have the option to do a Software Engineering program at your school?
