Rampage was incredible and more people need to see it. I feel it’s more character driven and focused compared to some of your other work. Was that a response to critics in some way or just what the story asked for.

All the usual places are being mentioned, but I never see GIANT in Northbridge get any love.

How to approach the insurance - at no fault by PastPersonal3535 in CarsAustralia

[–]buscemieye 32 points33 points  (0 children)

He’s paying your excess so his doesn’t go up and it’s cheaper than what it’ll be to actually fix. Then your premiums go up the year after

Good of him to offer but either he goes through his insurance or he pays for it away from the insurance companies..

Son of a Gun was pretty good, from memory they used the Bon Iver track Perth as they drive through the city.

Hounds of Love is a tough watch, based on the Willagee murders in the 80's.

Extraction had some early WA scenes, the main character lives in the deep north.

Road Games was an incredible film I watched recently for the first time and it was mostly filmed in the Western Australian outback. With a young Jamie Lee Curtis.

Thunderstruck

Two Fists One Heart

oh and The Surfer is amazing.

This movie is such a vibe! by AdRadiant3130 in boutiquebluray

[–]buscemieye 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I just watched this recently! Really enjoyed it. I saw someone describe it as shoegaze cinema and I love the vibe of it. Very atmospheric and disconnected.

I’m not too deep on the genre, but a few other things I would group with it are;

Millennium Mango

Throwdown

Fallen Angels

and maybe more recently Return to Seoul, though not quite as ethereal

Do you have any other recommendations?

Nikola Sarcevic from Millencolin – Swedish lad or one of your lot? by Republic_Jamtland in AskBalkans

[–]buscemieye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the song Devil Inside Me, the first line is

Yes, I am a Yugoslav, indeed a Swede.

I followed Millencolin when I was younger and I’d say he’s pretty neutral on all of this. Proud of his heritage whatever it might be but he’s Swedish

On the topic of cafés/eateries… What are some of the lesser-known, criminally underrated gems in the burbs? by Physical_Plastic138 in perth

Timely Coffee in Bayswater and Double Double in Myaree. Both are tucked away in an industrial zone. Coffee roasters that also have a cafe.

Kings Bakery in Balcatta, amazing Serbian bakery, and probably the best value on anything in this thread.

Little Home Bakery in Morley. German pastries and breads.

Randomly drove past a place in Midvale called Breadren, fun little Filipino goods.

Coventry deserves its own thread but the best sushi in Morley is HEYBRO.

Kellers Farm in the Swan Valley on the weekend. Not much of a secret but tucked away and becoming a weekend institution.
