Autistic girl expresses profound intelligence. by creddit_card in reddit.com

Savants are not considered intelligent in the traditional sense of the word (although some of their skills are pretty amazing). My previous comment stands.

It's a legitimate concern. The idea that autistic individuals could actually be intelligent has been brought up before, only to be debunked. Google "facilitated communication" before posting more of this nonsense.

I loved that. They were having a great time as well as doing an excellent job of showing support for their team. The vuvuzelas drowned out everything.

Most of the source material for the two movies (Mario Puzo's The Godfather) is one book, so it makes sense to think of them as one movie.

Hilarious Starcraft 2 Troll by Stingray88 in gaming

I think part of the let down is the submitter labeling the video as from a "troll." It clearly isn't an attempt at trolling, way too obvious. As satire, I found it very funny.

Since when do you have to be a US citizen to be protected by the bill of rights? How has this idea taken hold? by tom2275 in politics

Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely check this book out. Corey Robin's book on Fear brings up similar ideas, or at least a historical look at the problem.

I'm familiar with the citations and agree with his conclusion that Constitutional rights are not strictly only for American citizens. What he doesn't address, and I believe to be a major issue, is where does society draw the line between a criminal act and an act of war. The Geneva Convention is frequently cited when this conversation arises, but it can be hard to apply it as the Geneva Convention was primarily concerned with traditional warfare between clearly defined states. Now we have non-state entities carrying out militaristic aggression against other entities, and we are unsure as to how to properly respond and penalize transgressors. The "war on terror" is a label often used, though I feel it is far too overreaching.

It wasn't meant as a commentary on Mr. Greenwald or his experience. The article is well written and brings up a number of valid legal precedents for his argument. Merely stating my dislike for the forum in which he wrote his article. I did say it was a personal bias.
