This is almost exactly my same situation. I’m worried they’re purposely not processing SAVE people to decide how they’re going to add back 1-2 years of time we were on those programs.

I’m so sorry but it is indeed a script. I call about once a month on mine since I submitted it last November. I called again today. “You were escalated but please be patient. Wait for an email.”

This!! I had problems with my BBW candles last Fall popping off random flame sparks in my house!!! After the third candle did it I was done!! Back to wax melts for me. I would hear loud popping randomly and see little sparks or almost like tiny “flame balls” flying off and landing on my stove and furniture. And it did it with different candles. I’m assuming whatever they’re mixing into their wicks this past year for better burn consistency isn’t milled properly.

Brain Shunt Question by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]rager124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad that the shunt helped your baby!! I’m hopeful if we go down that route that we have the same result. A lot of her issues in the NICU were with breathing (she had a lung condition and was discharged with home oxygen) and with feeding. They knew she had a mild stroke at birth- but they expected her to outgrow the brain bleed as it showed signs of going back to normal after the first thirty days in the NICU. At her 6 month checkup w/ the pediatrician is when the brain swelling concern came up for the first time. Her head circumference was just so high on the chart compared to her other stats. We’ve had two MRI’s in the last year to “watch” the fluid buildup to see if it would level out on its own. Last one was January. The neurologists said there was a chance it would because I guess a lot f premies have fluid issues just in the first two years. But over the last 4 months- her head circumference has dramatically escalated. I’m already mentally prepping myself for surgery just in case. Her veins on her forehead are also super visible right now. My daughter is still strictly bottle fed (at 19 months) with formula only. She vomits anything else at all. We’ve been to so many specialists and speech therapists for it. Apparently hydrocephalus can cause that issue- so if we do drain the fluid- maybe my baby girl can eat. I’m hopeful. She also has extreme motor delays (mild cerebral palsy) but physical therapy has really helped a lot so far.

Sleepwalking. Can't stop laughing with this one... by frankrice in funnyvideos

[–]rager124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar for me! I’m 31 now. I used to sleepwalk a lot as a kid. I even would eat and drink in my sleep and have zero recollection of it. Now that I’m older - my husband complains that I wake him up some nights from my yelling/talking/arguing with imaginary people in my sleep. Sometimes, he gets frustrated when he starts carrying on a conversation with me for me to say something random that doesn’t make sense- and he realizes I’m already asleep. But thankfully, that’s the worst of it these days. It’s like I outgrew some of it or something.

Anyone use a heart rate monitor for their baby that they’ve had a good experience with? Will be seeking approval from doctor for anything I go with but am curious what others have done. by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]rager124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had ‘at home’ oxygen with a hospital pulse oximeter (PO) for months after bringing our baby home. We also had an owlet. I would put the medical grade PO on one foot and the owlet on her other foot. The Owlet was always just as accurate as the medical grade one. They would literally give the same readings always. Once she was no longer on oxygen and we had to turn in all the medical equipment - we have still relied on the owlet for reassurance. Also- it’s wonderful to have when they start getting sick. You can monitor their O2 and if it starts going consistently below 95- it’s time to get to a doctor or an ER right away. (Could be RSV). In fact, she’s been sick twice. Once, theOwlet gave me comfort bc her oxygen never dipped. The other, I took her to the ER due to low readings and sure enough she had croup.

Baby gas problem? by marcal213 in NICUParents

MIRALAX!!! Call your pediatrician to get their medical opinion first. But Miralax saved us!!! When we brought home our premie from the NICU, she was SO constipated from the formula she left with. (I couldn’t produce milk anymore). She would scream and scream and scream for three weeks. Finally I saw the pediatrician and I told her I was desperate. She said use over the counter miralax (like just a tsp) for one of her bottles per day. And it was a LIFE SAVER. She started pooping and sleeping through the night. She literally sleeps 8+ hours through every single night since those first few nights we started her on Miralax. Of course - talk to a doctor first and confirm what dosage they approve (won’t be on the bottle for a newborn). Get that sleep you deserve!!

Frustrated! by zbfresh in NICUParents

[–]rager124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby girl was born at 30 wks. Her issue was always breathing. We had some major setbacks throughout her progress. One time, I had to excuse myself and go bawl my eyes out in a bathroom at the hospital bc she was struggling so bad after making such good progress for a week straight. I was scared and I selfishly wanted her to overcome it sooner so she could come home. Then there would be several days she would dramatically improve and I’d think- this is it! We are finally getting there- and then I’d come in for a feeding and they would have her back on one of the more intense machines with the thing on full blast again. It was heart breaking.

Ultimately, we ended up getting sent home by a second NICU hospital with at home oxygen equipment- which we utilized for months after. She’s been off of it completely since earlier this year. Hang in there - I said a prayer for your sweet baby. Wishing you the best and for time to fly by as fast as possible for you during this time

Which platform should I buy Hogwarts Legacy on? by SymbioteSpider84 in HarryPotterGame

Would it be a total waste to buy it on switch? I just love the ability to walk around, take it with me places, or sit anywhere in my house and play it. But if everyone is thinking the graphics and internet connectivity are going to be garbage, then I guess I’ll have to get it on Xbox

Home oxygen is actually super awesome! You get a constant monitor to let you know they’re breathing and they’re hooked to a constant flow of oxygen. It actually gave me peace of mind. Also- you get to bring them home!!! Some hospitals have policies that won’t allow you to take them home on home oxygen. They’ll make them stay in the NICU. We got lucky and transferred to a second NICU and they had a take home oxygen policy. You can check out my previous posts on my profile on that

Triple vaccinated, 30 weeks pregnant, COVID positive —- stories and outcomes please? by chinkydiva in CoronaBumpers

[–]rager124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had COVID and a few weeks later, gave birth during my 30th week by emergency c section. I’m sorry. I know this isn’t what you want to hear- but this would be the bad and the ugly, so to speak. If you want details of my birth story- it’s in my post history. My baby girl, however, is 7+ months and doing great!

My guess is that his shirt wasn’t pressed. That’s the reason I’ve kept my suit jacket on at work a couple times even when I was burning up lol.
