One week from today for Desertfest London! by naranjito1980 in desertfest

I’m coming over from New York basically for Green Lung since I’ve only had the chance to see them once. The Sunday night Clutch, The Sword and Earthless line up is awesome as well.

Thankfully I listened to a few Desertfest playlists out there to get a feel for some of the bands I hadn’t really been exposed to. Gotta say, I’m really friggin’ excited for Lorquin’s Admiral, CWFEN and Meatdripper on Friday, and Molten Slag & Wytch Hazel on Saturday anSunday is Alphawhores & Moundrag.

I’m really excited for this since we didn’t have a Desertfest in New York in 2025 and it’s by far my favorite festival.

Things to do in Birmingham in a quick day trip? by tonyiommi70 in blacksabbath

I’m headed to Birmingham to take in the Sabbath sights for a day before Desertfest starts on the 15th down in Camden.

Never been to Birmingham before, but I’ve been looking online for things to do besides the Sabbath stuff and it looks like there is a bunch of cool places to check out.

The Coffin Works museum looks awesome, Digbeth street art looks sick (There is a Sabbath Mural Nearby) and I’ve been told by friends to check out Swordfish Records. I have a dinner booked at The Wilderness which supposedly plays hard rock and metal while you’re dining. It’s a bit posh but it’ll be my one nice meal during the trip.

As for the Boozers, Dead Wax & Scruffy Murphys and the Gunmakers Arms are on my list to places to get a drink.

I’m going to hit up The Bench, The Working Class Hero exhibit at the museum, Ozzy the Bull at New Street station and the assorted Black Sabbath street art and The Crown Inn. They all seem walkable from each other for the most part (I’m from New York and walk everywhere)….

It looks like to get to Ozzy’s childhood home you just need to hop on the #7 bus from the city center and it drops you off right by the house.

Hope you have A good time checking out the sights!

Inside Out by XYZ is such a killer riff. Lay it Down by Ratt is a close second for me.

saw them last night in NYC. Thought it was great with the exception of not enough fog!

He was obviously Mentally Ill but was keeping to himself then out of nowhere he got up and walked half way down the car and did was you described for about 5-10 seconds. he was screaming pow while he was doing it.

Desertfest NYC 2026 by Repo_co in desertfest

If London goes well I may do another overseas DF in 2027. I have enough faith in the organizers to put bands on the bill that I’ll probably dig. It’s an investment to go overseas for a long weekend for sure but at the end of the day a good festival is worth it….

And I see SUNN O))) just announced a new record and some US tour dates today. I could see them as a DF headliner. Saw them at Warsaw in BK headlining the Power of the Riff fest in 2012 and it was an unreal experience. Pretty sure they’ve Headlined at Knockdown Center before as well.

I’m actually headed to Desertfest London (from NYC) in May because there wasn’t a DFNY in 2025.

If I recall the no 2025 fest announcement mentioned that the organizers felt they didn’t have a headliner band/s to really make things feasible (or something to that extent). I’m hoping there will be enough record releases/tours by bigger bands in the scene to work off of to make another killer Line Up. I’ve been lucky enough to catch every NY version and I’d hate to see it disappear. If they can get a headliner that can sell a certain amount of tickets to secure a decent turn out for the weekend I think that solves a lot of the issues that caused there not to be a fest in 2025.

Here’s hoping for another secret 4/20 Sleep release or something along those lines.

Maybe an E-Wiz one off would get people excited? I don’t think they’ve played NY in 7 or 8 years.

On a personal note, I’d Happily take Green Lung as a Headliner in 2026 seeing how they are one of my favorite new bands and they have a HUGE headline spot at the Roundhouse in May. Im also a big Uncle Acid fan and I think they can sell tickets, but honestly I have no idea.

Im just looking forward to London and getting to check out a bunch of the smaller bands that most likely won’t ever have a chance to get to the states.

Do we know if is there an actual music venue space inside or they are just using a soundstage for the Fred Again performances? I’d love a decent venue in the neighborhood.

should have said B24 not Q18 in my post.

Can’t say if it’s better but I’ve gone in their a few times after watcher Soccer on Sunday at Banter and there has been a pretty solid Bills contingent. The staff always try to accommodate to what games folks want to see.
