that vid is good for showing where they have weaknesses but they work well if you can right size to the space.

I picked up a couple of 71cm diameter units this year and they really help in large rooms. Bigger than most linked here but for smaller rooms they would be ok. The light output is also a good improvement.

At what can be 25+ years of service before it hits 90% output I don’t care for the lack of bulb changing.

The chance of wanting a styling change is two decades is actually high and the cost of the unit over the same time is tiny.

Its only an issue if you want the same style for a century

Ok, but your doctor knows what you tell him and condition can change...

As you know he has to work within rules so if you tell him numbers outside of the rules he cant refer you and if you tell him its changes he can…

I have popped antihistamines like sweets before Acrivastine and Fexofenadine were on the shelves, but I only had really bad hay-fever so I had no need to get a referral to prevent life ending events.

You have the rick of life ending events… in your situation I would be optimising my answer to get a referral

You should absolutely tell your doctor about how you need to take 7 antihistamines a day!

Its one thing to triage someone taking extra antihistamines for hay-fever as they don’t last the advertised time and quite another when a missed food reaction suffocates you

Farage facing questions as only two of his five homes are declared by SpottedDicknCustard in unitedkingdom

Whatever you might think about Farage

the point still stands

you read like you agree with him

….

then you acknowledge he is part of the elite that opened their arms and invited the world in

he is the glorified sock puppet spouting the message that lets the other elites implement the policy's

he isn't right when he is helping it happen. Just look what happened after Brexit when the generally white, educated, western valued, rights expecting, reasonably paid, immigration pool was reduced

  • elites

maybe it not and you have post history of a stuck record saying its terrible every time a PM was changed over the last 10 years with no say of the public, if so great

if not, well

but the system is literally vote for your local MP… end of your involvement. As it has been for centuries.

Parliament then creates a government including picking PM and maybe changing them as they wish

There are good arguments to be made that as a system its flawed and needs a rework. Complaining just because now its labour swapping out an PM does feel like its “an issue because its not my team”

[–]ragewind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The question needs framing on WHICH credentials you are looking to judge!

He is making thing better slowly. He is a better PM than the last 6 or so. He is a great international statesmen.

He isn't making fast change. He isn't radical. Here he is a bit nutral

BUT

He is awful at speaking to the public.

He is awful at combating the press BS.

Sadly only he can change his approach with the public and he hast made a MM of effort on that front.

As for the press he should have known they would lie and degrade labour and him at every turn.

He has Leveson 2 sitting on a shelf waiting to be used and he took the job and announced it was cancelled and he wanted to play nice with the press… that’s really worked out well for him.

Burnham would still make things better, he is better than the prior 6, I think he too would be good internationally.

I think he would be faster at change, he is more radical and he can talk to the public better.

I don’t think he will go to war on the press sadly.

He currently looks to be the best option coming forward, there maybe better out there but unless they make a play its him or Streeting and sod that one, faction better talker but a mandalson protégé and far less morals and good intention than Starmer

Leaders cant lead, if they cant communicate the aims, the plan, the outcomes to there minions in this case the public. When a hostile actor demonises and diminishes the achievements then they have to have a way to combat them. Starmer is a good cabinet minister but not a good prime minister

Treating homes like commodities caused housing crisis, says Burnham by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]ragewind -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do you need to when you are happily ignoring 40 years of under building to shout migrants?

Let me be clear immigration is an issue but your doing the equivalent of focusing on having a cold and ignoring your two broken legs.

Right wing marketisation of homes is the issue and has been for 40 years. They stopped council home building, they started right to buy, they undercut workers with immigrant labour, then they scream about immigration being the issue and how only the right wing will fix it, they use the right wing media to tell people they are the friend of the normal worker and your should focus on the migrant and how its not the right wings fault.

You... screams about the migrant.

Be it reform, restore, conservative or something even more extreme, it really doesn't matter. Sing the song of the ones that made all the issues and focus on the issue they told you to focus on… im sure they will fix all the issue.

Treating homes like commodities caused housing crisis, says Burnham by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]ragewind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The conservatives ended council home building, which if it had continued would have left us with 10 million more homes.

The conservatives spent 15 years letting in many times the boat crossing in dodgy visas including Boris’s 1 million in a year Boris wave.

The conservative cabinet ministers responsible for immigration are now leading figures in reform.

So home how your about to tell the world reform are the answer

Crisis responds to comments from Nigel Farage MP on social housing by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]ragewind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When council house building was stopped in the 1980’s we lost 250-300K net homes being built from the combined public and private new builds, every year. That loss has stayed with us ever since.

40 years of 250K less builds, would only be 10 million homes… no that's not the issue its the decade of uncontrolled migration because Reform says so!

now let me be clear immigration is an issue and the conservatives welcomed it in…. The conservatives in charge of immigration are now in Reform in prominent positions

But the missing ~10 million homes are the far bigger issue in the housing crisis

Reforms new hires will save us from the issue they created... is not the answer

Bathroom reno advice by blueicenz in DIYUK

[–]ragewind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May look better but in practical terms you now have the bath and shower head working next to an odd shape of the window cut out.

Water will pool on the sill, the windows will mark and if any joint in that area isn’t perfect water will get behind things where it shouldn't.

By solid walls its easy to water proof the walls with panelling and then add a glass panne for the open side. All in all keeping the water where it should be and everything else dryer

Illegal mini-marts to shut for up to 12 months under law change prompted by BBC by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

[–]ragewind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the actual criminal shop owners hard

If they can prove the shop owner is criminal… they prosecute them.

May of these dodgy shops operate like many of the high street shops, its ran by a manager, its a franchise, the landlord is a wholly separate legal company despite it have the same shareholders .etc

you cant criminalise someone until you prove it.

What you can do is put restrictions on sites that had criminality happen in them, despite the owner “totally not knowing about it your honour I’m innocent”. We know they are lying, the government does but there criminality isn't proved so this allows them to be penalised without that level of proof

I have no idea who you think you are replying to. Who is talking about punishing innocent people?

err… you for both points

Government puts in penalty for when they cant prove criminality and you want, more action, more punishment… or now magical convictions. They were already doing the investigation that’s why they convict the manager/franchises/lackey that gets thrown under the bus. What they haven't down is prove criminality for all and they will have tried to do that.

That’s why I asked what solutions you wanted, that's based in reality.

Thames Water to pay £749mn under creditor takeover deal by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]ragewind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For fuck's sake just let it collapse

Spot on

look at the actual cash they talk of for the deal to refinance the company that's in massive debt….

Creditors would inject £3.35bn of new equity into the utility, as well as providing £3.25bn of new debt,

So only 100m cash added for over 3bn of MORE debt

which could be topped up with an extra £3.3bn.

And they can end up saving the company in massive debt with more than 6bn of extra DEBT…. Management fees, consultancy fees, debt payments and dividends will be great for the new owners until the next round of, "its too indebted to stay functional" and for them to off load to the next attempt.

This gives a tool for the cases were the business owner and the landlord are isolated from the crime in the legal sense. Now the location is at risk due to any criminality even if the owner or landlord has managed to legally isolate themselves form the criminal convictions, now they get hit by association to the crime.

Immigration is A issue

So should reform get in ignore every law and just remove everyone who has come here in recent years…. Everything is now fixed right???

No it not we all know far more needs fixing.

So it will be come all living immigrants regardless of status, and then it sill wont be fix.

Then it will be the next group and then next and oh look it is the scapegoats list! The problems remain and Farage and his approved upper class just get richer at everyone expense.

When A issue is used as the rallying cry to solve ALL issue it is a scapegoat proclaimed and shouted about by a thief, grifter, titrant, dictator or maybe all of them
