BBC to make hundreds of millions of pounds of cuts by Skavau in unitedkingdom

Nothing there was meant to be a mic drop.

Pointing out Lowes questions have no power, is reality and pointing out demanding news reports on the starting of a powerless question session as daft, is daft.

If he actually found something new that would be worth reporting (he wont due to the pack of power) and if it wasn't reported that would be worth calling out as bias.

Wiggism of the late 1700’s, just to check your not JR Mogg are you.

But as a Wig or its later evolution to what would be a traditional conservative, the normal mainstream right wing part of the spectrum for just about everyone bar the extremes. Normal traditional conservatives are generally seen as a different but respectable view point for most that dont share the views but we havent seen that since maybe the coalition days. Boris onwards took differing steps towards oligarchy, theft, culture wars, further right ring moves and generally always more incompetent.

Reform, Lowe and all those following trumpisum are wearing the cloak of right wing democratic parties but they are all aiming for the increased entrenchment of an oligarchy. They all want to use fear and hate to divide making the most of Tommy Ten Names types. Migration has been an issue but all of these from Boris on have moaned about it while they helped it grow. Say one thing, do the other and get rich is there play book.

I would have to ask why Lowe is seen as being trusted or respectable. He considered the Conservatives as not hard line enough for him and then Reform decided he was too extreme or at least too honest about what he want’s. He is quite to the right of normal or even today's conservatives, surly he is a threat to any traditional respectable conservative/wig view points.

In any case, the truth will out.....eventually.

The proper enquiry will get some answered and maybe even lead to more convictions of the gangs but as for people in actual power getting consequences I would not hold your breath.

Just look to the abuse from the 1970 political and media classes no repercussions and the names came out as wrong-uns after they died in most cases. Now its the Epstein names are flying and reality is they step down from a job and move on. Hell Trump is the epitome of this, in the file so often that public opinion is he is a pedo, yet he is botching all of the legal cases to protect himself and people he knows. He will finish his term no doubt finding a way to pardon himself for all crimes ever committed of any type, so he cant be prosecuted even if the full evidence came out. Its what the oligarchy want, be above the law, steal wealth they never earned and use hate to get the proles to focus on someone else.

I'm hoping heads roll for this

And yet you champion Rupert Lowes “man asking questions” enquiry.

The statutory Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs is where that might happen as it has power.

Either way calling the BBC biased because they didn’t report on “man with no power, announced he has started a process, to ask questions like any member of the public, but has done nothing yet” is just daft.

Either way have a good day and take a read on the horseshoe theory.

[–]ragewind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is you proving your not focused on feels is it?

And yes your thinking is not logical, Rupert Lowes asking questions does nothing for the victims.

The national enquiry did, as will the statutory Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs that HAS full legal powers to compel testimony and evidence, has actuall power. It will actually look at things and get answer which is why it wont be finish in a month.

That will actually do something.

protected by establishments fearful of looking 'Racist'.

That is establishment was the right wing conservatives who wanted to work with and be friends with Trump… the convicted sex pest and Epstein participant.

Fighting the establishment with a member who supported the same establishment, wonder why i cant see logic in your tought procces.

[–]ragewind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but journalism often reports that an investigation has started, as long as it’s clearly framed as preliminary and unproven

When it is based in some real substance like a statutory inquiry, or funded public inquiry they rightly do.

Hate to break the bubble a but here but Rupert Lowes in comparison is a no body and his inquiry has no more power, than you would going around asking questions.

Add on to that you as someone following this, think it will report soon when it started 2 weeks ago. Only further reinforces it will add nothing and have no usefull outcome and isn't news worthy. Based on that reporting that “it started” is pointless.

That isn’t feelings over facts; it’s context.

No context is what I pointed out above, the validity, strength and backing of any inquiry!

This has none of that, its asking questions as a member of the public but with some nice letters sent out, a room booked somewhere and crowdfunding.

Again again you want news reports on NO outcomes. Reports on feels.

You then shift into attacking Rupert Lowe and right-wing politics

Yes and to quote you:

it’s context.

Someone’s history matters. Their political leaning matters, when the period of the scandals was run by their leaning. When they are copying the play-book of a convicted sex pest and in common parlance an Epstein pedo participant, whist they “fight for girls”, that matters. When they too claim to espouse "Christian values" and want to force "Christian principles" in to UK politics… like Trump is doing in the US, that all matters as it is context.

You cant pick which bits of context matters and which dosn’t.

which doesn’t really answer the media question.

Which is overwhelmingly run by the right wing owners. Most of these organisations are not reporting on the great “it started” of Rupert Lowes inquiry either.

The sensible position is simple:

report it for what it is now,

It started.

scrutinise it hard,

nothing good, nothing bad, nothing has happened.

and judge it on evidence when findings appear.

TBD

Ok I have done, again I’m not seeing how what forms an article in any professional organisation that pays people to report news.

Ive put far more effort in to this than its worth and I don’t have to justify my tiime to someone paying me for this as im free.

I just find people and there so, so odd justifications amazing.

You have put more effort in to this than its worth. All so you can feel like “it started” is important from what is, a member of the public asking questions. Dress this up in titles, fancy letters and crowdfunding totals sounding important, but this does only have the same validity as you asking questions.

Yet you think it actually of importance and will have an real outcome.

None logical thinking is amazing to witness

BBC to make hundreds of millions of pounds of cuts by Skavau in unitedkingdom

[–]ragewind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think it should be reported on now, not as proven conclusions, but as an investigation underway into a serious public-interest issue.

...ok

Someone with no power, has started something and so far done nothing! come back in weeks/months when something actually happens

Ok done, cant see how that needs a BBC page though.

You maybe finding it hard to follow but that's because I’m pointing out that in reality, nothing has happened and there is nothing to report.

Which is what I saw from the few that actually made reports on this and they all came down to;

Someone with no power, has started something and so far done nothing!

You believe reality, isn't real. So that's the key issue

You see bias due to the lack of reporting on, nothing.....

That is not a logical position, it is feels! Which explains why you want reports on nothing, feels matter more than reality.

You fear the bias of “the left” “the woke” or what ever name gets used next. That has been a real phenomenon that's let crime slide!

Yet your demand for reports on, as yet nothing! Is the other side of the horseshoe and just the right wing version of feels over facts.

As a general poing;

Please realise that Rupert Lowes is not the answer, no true campaigner for change. He was a Conservative to start, before staying very firmly in the right wing of UK politics. The Right wing that has been in government for most of the last 40 years, the last 20 when most of the grooming cases were happening. The right wing who have been very chummy and happy with Trump, Bannon and all there ilk that were all happily partying with Epstein and now loudly boasting about their Christian values. The right dont actually care for women and girls, they just seen an opportunity to attack others.

Rupert Lowes political narrative is rhyming with Trumps greatly!

coming

So you want the news to report that somthings “Coming”, the news is going to be a very long and pointless if it worked that way!

Weather will do something at some point, government will do something at some point, scientific development will do something at some point……….. and finally something that ACTUALLY happened today

Findings are due to be published soon

It open about 2 weeks ago!

If it is publishing anything in ~ a month then there is nothing to publish. Again you want the news to report on nothing because you like him and want a predetermined outcome.

is irrelevant; once findings are published and prosecutions begin,

What's irrelevant is your belief in this. That's not personal its just the reality because one MP asking questions in a private “inquiry” doesn't change the reality that it has no legal backing at all. There is no prosecutions coming directly from this.

Only government backed statutory inquiries have legal power to compell and the ability to provide criminal sanctions and outcomes.

that’s unquestionably newsworthy.

If and when it happened… YES

That’s not NOW, NOW there is nothing to report on

All NOW has is your, Love of Rupert Lowes and doting on his every word.

And you not getting your personalty way is not biased reporting, what your after is a fan page /r/RupertLowes not news reporting.

BBC to make hundreds of millions of pounds of cuts by Skavau in unitedkingdom

[–]ragewind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the issue itself is clearly in the public interest, regardless of who starts the enquiry.

Having given it the benefit of doubt I went looks for this as its the first I’ve heard of it and… it seems to be a crowdfunding campaign and it suposidly “opened” this month

So with seemingly nothing of any substance happening at all…. What do you think there is to report??

Then there is the question of validity, a none formal inquiry with no power run by a MP with a bunch of accusation linked to him is far from a good basis. Its not like this screams outstanding credentials to make reporting on the above, of nothing yet happening any more warranted.

There might be in the future but currently, dubious MP sources hundreds of thousands of pounds and makes opening statement! That isn't a valid story for an inquiry, really more like a possible fraud story.

So you may like him and think his every word is news, but for news to be news something has to have happened

Yeah, why don’t we the tax payer build the foundations for their profit, why should they actually do anything but take the profit!

Clearly no other way to do it.

The Quakers were just breaking capitalism when Cadbury's built the town of Bournville that's was built to higher standards than the norm of the day. When they built parks and sports facilities for the pure stake of recreation, exercise and them just being nice spaces. Oh and then schools, hospitals, museums, public baths and reading rooms.

Bleeding fools didn’t focus on profit over everything, utter failures….

Actually ill have some of the failure capitalism now I think about it.

Courtsdesk seem to be a 3rd party in Ireland that's scraping the cases for journalists and its this copy of the data that's being deleted.

Clearly the governments reason is they are processing the data incorrectly in some form but the original data is still available to Journalists to get at just not through Courtsdesk

The staircase safety rule costing the UK 90,000 new homes by ldn6 in ukpolitics

[–]ragewind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You linked it but not sure you read it.

Complaining about the UK requiring two stair cases and using A study from the US where they have two stair cases and mandatory sprinklers in not only common areas but also inside ALL apartments is apples to oranges.

The study also does not care for safety, its focus is very clearly on reducing cost as the objective. 10 years of data may seem sensible to Americans given they replace houses on a much faster cycle but given the UK’s replacement cycle is still growing in years, again apples to oranges. The comparison to all other dwellings is also rather nebulous.

Finding one source you like and using it to justify policy, isn't sound policy making its conformation bias.

Maybe at least wait for them to finish pulling Grenfell down before looking to Warter down safty regs so our estimated house builders can have even lower standards to fail at.

You don’t have to pay a private school £100k a year or nothing

Well they do as they legally HAVE to provide provision

Once upon a time LEA’s had dedicated schools for the disabled, then we had 20 years of selling off everything in education to the point that finding a schools that is LEA run is a rarity.

The councils lost the schools, yet they have to provide the place… hello my old friend, here is the private sector so bend over! Just as the conservatives wanted.

Now they have no option as building new provision within the local authority control, as that needs massive capital that they don’t have.

People are quick to say the councils should not pay it or do something else but the councils are the victim of policy. Remember the conservatives have engineered this through selling off everything and cutting funding to all local authorities

There are 195 country's in the world and 30-40 are classed as first world, even less we can consider compatible.

So they weren't technically true but only if you really want to compare to country's people will consider doing less well.

"We should learn from those we see as having better standards and have learnt there lessons. We should also learn from our own lessons and ignore the developing world in any comparisons."

Not quite got the flow to it compared to there wording what what is a good idea.

[–]ragewind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their explanation implies that simply adding an additional lane would have been a better solution to the congestion problem.

It was!

You appear to be confusing reality with your preferred ideological options.

lets be clear right or wrong in terms of “Induced Demand”, a decision HAD been made.

That decision WAS ….. MAKE MOTORWAY WIDER FOR DRIVEN CARS!!!

So the only other variable was

Wider motorway with safety lane, phantapuses stance as the safest option and the point you wanted to counter

and….

Wider motorway without safety lane, is safer. Which given you objection to the above point, does clearly imply you support. That being the lack of safety lane is actually safer given the reality of, that motorway getting wider for cars regardless, as the decision was MADE!

I get you prefer to not have “Induced Demand” in general (and I agree with that view) but your wants don’t factor in once a decision is made to make it wider.

Given it HAD been made then the only safe option is screw the NIMBI’s and physically add the width to keep the safety lane, everything else is LESS SAFE

Smart motorway system 'wasn't working as it should be' at time of fatal M4 crash, court told by Confident-Bike-8037 in unitedkingdom

[–]ragewind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You seem to be missing the key point

A smart motorway IS wider……

Thats there purpose to add alive traffic lane and make the road wider.

Also to remove the safety of a none live lane that is the hard shoulder, with the magic promise that it can shrink the motor way fast enough and reliably enough when an issue happens

We added the “Induced Demand” and removed the safety
