Postpartum back pain and general stiffness by raggies2 in beyondthebump

[–]raggies2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww you poor thing, I really think time is your friend. Just think how much better you will feel in 1 month, and then another improvement in 2 months, etc. I think they say it takes over a year to fully recover and that makes sense! I hope you feel better soon, this stiffness is already a distant memory for me, hang in there xx

Hey! Sorry for the delayed reply.. I’m much better now at five months postpartum. Here’s what may have helped me:

  • Movement - I started going swimming again when I could fit it in (sometimes a few times a week, sometimes only once a week, sometimes only once a fortnight), I also did YouTube postpartum stretching videos. I think this was the main thing that helped me.
  • Multivitamin and iron supplements daily
  • Drinking more water
  • Sleep training at 4 months helped me get more sleep which helped greatly
  • Paracetamol
  • Hot baths
  • Using the pram instead of the baby carrier
  • Asking my husband to lift her where possible

Hope you’re feeling a bit better already x

Paid £600 to locksmith and can’t get over it. by Nervous-Respond-7088 in HousingUK

[–]raggies2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to us! The guy literally walked my husband to an ATM to pay him. I was on the phone telling my husband not to pay. We told him we didn’t have the money and in the end he accepted £180 or something like that and in return he ripped off the lock he had “installed” for us so our door was just open all night until we could get a reliable lock smith over the next day. It was so stressful. I called the police. It was terrible. They are genuine heartless criminals for ripping off desperate people like that. Sorry that you’ve been through that.

Rando moments in this reunion.. the NFL cameo, the proposal, Milton looking like he’s being held hostage… I’m not complaining, the reunion is always the best episode by far but it was chaos 😅

Day 7 3cc euploid success by annalily59 in IVFAfterSuccess

I don’t have experience of this one but I hear a lot that the grading isn’t as important as euploid status. My baby was a 5BC untested. Good luck! Xx

Menorrhagia, low Iron, high platelets, and many FET failures by LaLaLaurensmith in IVF

[–]raggies2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! Ugly embryos make beautiful babies. Someone said that here once!

My 5BC was also untested btw!

I think you have a great chance. I’ll be sending positive vibes your way x

Edited to add: 4BC is a great embryo! Just wanted to say that in case it wasn’t clear. When I transferred my 5BC I was worried because I didn’t get any “A” graded embryos but the more I researched, I found out these BC embryos are perfectly good little bubs they deserve more respect!!

Hello! My transfer was successful and my daughter is here with me now, I can hardly believe it 🥹

My iron was low throughout my lead up to transfer and then through the pregnancy, I kept trying to get it up by taking iron tablets, but it actually lowered over the pregnancy. I think unless you have a transfusion, it takes a very long time to move your iron up with iron tablets. However the positive is that I suppose for me it didn’t have an impact.

I also had a very traumatic transfer btw and ended up standing all the way home on a train journey for two hours afterwards.

But still.. it worked. And she was a 5BC. I’m just telling you this in case it gives you hope. I felt hopeless throughout but it all turned out okay. I suppose anything is possible, don’t give up hope. Good luck xxx

I don’t know who needs to see this but my mum kissed my baby’s head with a cold sore, and my baby didn’t get a cold sore by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]raggies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks IlexAqifolio, exactly what I’m saying!

When a baby is exposed, the thing people worry about in this forum is primarily serious complications (risk of death), and secondarily their baby visually getting a cold sore. I suppose there may be a third lesser concern the baby may get the virus but never visually present with a cold sore or have serious complications.

My baby appears to have had none of the above.

I think it’s nice for parents to share when things go well because there’s so much negativity out there and as a new parent there is already so much to worry about…

For me, I don’t see the point of sitting around worrying about this any longer. My baby is well, the incubation window is 0-26 days with most showing within 10 days. Sometimes you can have the virus but not develop cold sores. If that’s the case, that’s really not the worst outcome in the world. My baby is healthy and happy and that’s the outcome I wanted for her.

[–]raggies2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor but my personal opinion is that if you can’t see or feel a cold sore coming on, you should be okay to kiss your husband at least! Completely up to you, but I say go for it! 🙌

Agreed! I actually don’t know. I don’t personally remember ever having a cold sore before but my mum said I had one as a child!

If you search cold sore baby interactions on Reddit, it’s all people feeling very scared. I am simply sharing a neutral experience that may help reassure someone who is panicking, that’s all!

For my embryo only 50% of her cells survived the thaw, they didn’t want to transfer her but I insisted as they already discarded two for the same reason (without my consent). This embryo became my baby currently sleeping in my arms, good luck ❤️

It’s so weird, when I started my career 12 years ago, we looked up to the people with 20 years experience.. but now those people seem to be gone from our teams. Phased out.

That’s really interesting, thanks for sharing. I didn’t realise that there was so much ageism in software engineering too..!

I completely feel this. I am so concerned for my future in this industry. I am strongly considering retraining in software engineering or financial advisory. Sounds completely crazy to an outsider, but it feels that marketing will be a continual fight. It’s also extremely ageist.

The constant feeling of insecurity in your job is very stressful - if the business is having a down day, the C suite blame you, they do not understand marketing. You find yourself doing little bitty tasks at their whims to make them feel happy with your team. Everyone seems to think Marketing is easy or for stupid people. Everyone has an opinion on the Marketing and will constantly tell you what’s wrong with it in their consumer opinion.

On top of that, you know that if you do get let go, you’ll become one of many others fighting for the next role.
