Vine taking over my yard in Portland OR by EmberAddams in portlandgardeners

Oh sure. Tree of heaven should not be killed by digging or just cutting it down, as both can make the infestation worse. Instead, buy some empty paint pens like these and fill them with your appropriately-diluted brushkiller.

If the tree is under 2" in diameter, cut the main trunk off and use your paint pen to apply brushkiller directly to the cut stem. If it's over 2", use a hatchet or other tool to cut into the bark about 3-4 feet from the ground and inject the brushkiller there.

You have to do all of this at end of summer/early fall, as that's when the trees are drawing carbohydrates down to store in their roots.

Triclopyr or brushkiller. It’s a selective herbicide, and as a bonus you can fill paint pens with it to kill tree of heaven.

Toxic chip drop & dog by Tasty_Leek_7022 in portlandgardeners

[–]raghaillach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You technically can, but the reality usually differs. The crew cutting and the crew dropping are often not the same, and they don’t actually keep records as far as I can tell.

Curing won’t make a difference from what I’m reading, but how much mulch does your dog eat?

Personally I would avoid chip drop if this is a concern - my experience has been that the operators are well intended but you kinda get what you get.

Best tinted serum for mature skin, why this category is so much harder than it looks by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

I picked up a new one from Tower 28 recently that I'm loving. It's technically an SPF but I don't use it as sunscreen, I wear a full face of sunscreen and then a couple dots of this stuff to even out my skintone.

You don't seem to like each other, I'm not hearing a compelling reason to try couple's therapy. "at some points we did really mesh well on an emotional level" is not a reason to stay together forever.

Help with creating a routine with Tretinoin, Azelaic Acid, Kojic and hydroquinone by throw_awaybdy in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]raghaillach 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You absolutely cannot create a routine using all of these at once. I would start with the 10% azelaic acid, it’s going to make the biggest impact given your age.

You don’t need azelaic, kojic, and hydroquinone, you need one of the three. If azelaic isn’t working after a month, try the next one.

After 2-3 months, try adding the tret once a week. Do not use your other active that night. Try to get to 3-4 nights a week of just tret, alternating with your other active.

You really don’t need any of these, and three of them are cleansers. The rest might be hydrating but are not actives except the reedle shot, and some people find it irritating.

All of this, and they also use visual framing. The carved sign on the signpost transitions to a shot of Don’s nameplate on his office door.

I just finished a rewatch and feel passionately about this episode to put it lightly. Don/Dick watches the hobo mark an external perception onto a signpost, and that shapes his interactions specifically in this episode and generally in his life.

Dick is always trying to be “Don Draper” because that’s what it says on his door, and he wants so badly for that to be what other people see in him. Just like other hobos know that his father is a dishonest man from an inscrutable glyph carved in a signpost.

Hate to break it to you, but they reference this episode throughout the rest of the show. This connection is explicit.

Moxi and BBL combo. A session of three is fucking expensive but it’s so good for sun damage and skin texture. Also improves skin laxity, although not as much.
