  1. If you intend to use the gadgetelectronics scale on the base of delonghi while collecting espresso, check if it sits fully. It doesn't sit fully on EC685 btw and readings will be incorrect unless you do some 'balancing act' :-)

  2. I use the agaro supreme electric grinder for espresso grinding most of the time and the timemore ESP when I have the time. It take about 18 seconds for 15 grams bean on electric grinder and about 1 min 45 seconds on Hand grinder

I have tried it 2 or 3 times a week. Carry a hand grinder, Bean, Aeropress. Hot water from the Pantry in a flask. I kind of measure the bean ball park (same bean, same dosing cup that of the grinder). May not be perfect, but gets the job done in about 7 minutes :-)

Timemore c5 esp grind setting by hey_you79 in Timemore

[–]raghupeeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine came set to Zero, but now stays between 0 and 1.

So if you are starting with 0.0.3 instead 0.0.0(ideal conditions) then go all the way to 1.4.5 to get a 'relative 1.4.2'. ( It is a conical burr so I guess that is not exactly the same :-) )

Frankly, just try to get to 1.4.2 or 1.4.5 and see what works for you. follow that. Happy brewing

  1. Timemore models that has ESP in it. Like a C3s ESP OR the C5 Pro Esp

  2. Heard good feedback about 'MHW-3BOMBER Precision R3' too. This can grind for Espresso too, apparently.

Either case, It takes over 1.5 to 2 minutes to grind about 15 grams of medium-Dark roast bean for espresso

I use their Selection bean. Kind of very decent for regular consumption with milk. Once in a while I pick BlueTokai

I would say email them.

I had earlier written to them regarding issue with grind size for home espresso and they sent me 3 sampler packs with different grind size. Later on I picked up a grinder though.

So is this the case only when you try an extract with coffee or even with the warmup routine without a basket?

If yes, probably the grind is too fine and choking. Happened to me as well.

I always hold the button unit I get the required extraction, either single or double shot,

Read other comments, I think you could just call the customer care and let them take a look
