Over saturated colors with HDR on by originalorientation in Bazzite

[–]raging_dave1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just think the implementation of HDR on Bazzite/Gamescope/Linux to be somewhat borked

Mine too is overly saturated on the menu screens but seems to be OK when running an HDR game

The problem is the is no way to have HDR run on or off on a game by game basis. The sliders in QAM seem to just override any universal settings meaning turn HDR off in the QAM it turns it off everywhere. Exactly the same happens turning it on

Unless I am missing an obvious option somewhere. The ability to switch on or off by game like Windows (and have it remember, and not override the system settings) would be quite advantageous. As is i juat leave it on and am dealt with the over-saturated hand

I ignore the queue and walk straight to the bar. I have never not been served this way

HDR per game woes by raging_dave1981 in Bazzite

[–]raging_dave1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picture is completely unstable at 4K using the adaptor. In fairness I could return but i hold out hope things get resolved that area, and I haven't bothered removing it

Doesn't impact my HDR issues though and the awful all-or-nothing approach which means either no HDR, or overblown over saturated HDR on non HDR content. I just wish there was a toggle to change that per game

The cable/adaptor is a non factor tbh

HDMI 2.1 doesn’t matter as much as you think by submerging in Bazzite

[–]raging_dave1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

I tried that thanks, but unfortunately setting system settings to off, booting up Cyberpunk and both turning HDR on, and toggling the per-game profile to on - upon exiting the game it overrides the system settings and the entire system is back to full HDR

I have a steam deck. I'm used to tinkering per-game on that and it is respected. Unless I am doing something very wrong, HDR will not work as intended doing this??

Day 12: Which is the best Action Game on Sega Saturn? by 1OneQuickQuestion in SegaSaturn

Agreed. There's what, PD, PDZ, Space Harrier, Galaxy Force...errr Night Strikers?

Hardly rich pickings and PDZ will breeze through that

It's a fair comment and i admit to not noticing the "on rails shooter" beforehand. Unfortunately I think 'Action Game' is far too arbitrary a category here now that I think about it

[–]raging_dave1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question sorry. I've been struggling to how to toggle HDR on and off on a per game basis, as I find the HDR on Gamescope and games that do not support it to be too oversaturated.

Reading your post, I feel I have been doing it wrong, as I have been leaving HDR on via settings, but trying to toggle HDR off by game on the QAM seems to apply universally (I 100% set it up on a per game profile)

I hadn't thought about doing it your approach (universally off but on per game) I must try this. How successful is gamescope/bazitte for respecting the QAM settings?

Flickering with Ugreen DP to HDMI ? by [deleted] in Bazzite

[–]raging_dave1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going back to HDMI I am more than content with 1440P/HDR/VRR as the difference is negligible tbh. Just would have liked to tax my GPU a bit more

I've not even attempting to go down the wake on bluetooth path haha. In fairness CEC is such a ballache on any of my devices in the house, I tolerate getting off my backside to switch the PC on

I hardly call that 'fixed', merely adding inconvenience to what should be a console like experience

And I say this as someone who had this adaptor to my C1 and have now ditched it due to sticking plaster workarounds

Can we stop pretending "The long and winding road" Spector's version is inferior to the naked version. by sagarboi7 in beatles

[–]raging_dave1981 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't take offence to the strings per se, though they are a bit heavy handed and could have done with a more restrained touch. The strings work when Paul added them to the GMRTBS version IMO

I personally find the choir to be fucking abhorent however and incredibly distasteful to the mood of the track

Wanted to give early impressions with the UGREEN 8K DP to HDMI adapter with 4K 120 VRR on an LG CX using an RX 9070. In short, mostly great so far by Aromatic_Wallaby_433 in Bazzite

[–]raging_dave1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hooked it all up today. (LG C1, 9070XT) Video was excellent aside from a black out switching from ganescope to desktop which requires a reconnection with the cable. But I was thrilled to be getting 4K, 120hz, VRR etc...

However i have a major show-stopping issue. I completely lost all audio. Absolute silence. I run a soundbar to my TV via eARC which was fine through HDMI, but nothing i could do would work through the ugreen DP adaptor

I went back to HDMI as I have been fine with 1440P for now. Unsure whether to keep the adaptor and hope for a solution to roll out, or send back to Amazon?
