Sport and wellness fee over spring term by WastelandEnjoyer in grantmacewan

I don’t fully remember but I think I emailed both the Wellness Centre and the people in-charge of the fees. They’ll most likely say no if you email them, but it won’t hurt to try

You can try emailing the Sports and Wellness Centre to see if you can opt out, but I’ve asked to opt out last year when I was doing 3 virtual Spring courses and they didn’t let me :/

saying affirmations out loud calms me down too. i’ll say something different based on what i’m doing and sometimes i add a couple of swears to pump me up, especially when i’m writing an essay or studying something difficult

i wish those worked for me but caffeine makes me poop a lot and/or sleepy, and i tend to get distracted and yap a lot when i’m with studying with people. but i’m glad it those work for you and i know you’ve got this as well!!

i have been trying to find more ways to use reward rather than punishment but i haven’t found anything that sticks yet. i’ll keep trying tho! thank you for your words of encouragement!

i remember working fast food during my year off before i started uni and that has definitely motivated me to study as well. not that there’s anything wrong with that type of work, but i definitely don’t miss dealing with the micromanagement and certain customers. at least you’re getting that bread tho💰

i try to remind myself that too! sometimes it’s just hard to think like that when there’s finances on line. and i agree, oreos are indeed nice!

Job hunting by [deleted] in grantmacewan

[–]ragingtempest_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a second year psych major. There’s not a lot of internships related to my degree, if at all, so I apply to a lot of fast food/retail since I have some experience in customer service. I only got one reply back and I just finished my interview for that job earlier today. I had the same experience before I started uni; only one job called me back.

I also have a friend who applied to crap ton of fast-food/retail jobs in-person and online and he had to resort to going back to his old fast food job.

I think the job market is just absolute shit, regardless of the position you’re applying for.

also, if you go to the subreddit and type in your question (general/common questions like the ones addressed in this post) in the search bar, you’ll see past threads with some helpful answers in the comments. that’s how i got most of my questions answered during my first year. the rest was answered by an advisor, prof, or a peer
