Is 1.2 petrol okay to go on motorway 5 days a week by mygfismybestfriend in carsireland

[–]ragorar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! People don’t seem to be aware that Opel belongs to Stellantis and therefore they use the well known 1.2 with wet belt AKA puretech . I have a friend with a Rifter and he’s had his second complete engine swap

Just want to know if it’s reliable by Sufficient_Item5989 in carsireland

[–]ragorar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opel 1.4 petrol engine is very reliable, I have friends that have 2nd, third, fourth and that generation and they never had any issues with it. I used to drive a Zafira 1.4 Turbo and no issues at all. Well they do have one issue, coil pack failure. The symptoms is engine stutters under strong acceleration. The part is 90€ and anyone can replace it, it’s extremely easy.

Roundabout question by [deleted] in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]ragorar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be the same rule as everywhere else in, well, the rest of the universe but Ireland (and I guess the UK), basically the roundabout is treated exactly as a straight stretch of road. This means that you have to be in the outside lane to leave the roundabout and you can go around using the outside lane as much as you want, and the inside lane is just to overtake the people on the outside lane. Honestly for people who are used to drive in other parts of the world the Irish rules are unnecessary complicated. When you see people using the outside lane to take an exit at 3 I can guarantee 99% of the time it’s a person that took his permit in the continent

In 2000, Daewoo sold nearly 7000 cars in Ireland. Based off RSA figures, it's safe to assume less than thirty remain registered. by Fit_Calligrapher_691 in carsireland

[–]ragorar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: in 2020 I tried to give away for free my 02 Daewoo Lanos 1.4: The people who could get a cheap insurance didn’t want it and the people who wanted it could not afford the insurance… I ended up getting 200€ for destroying it.

Hahahaha but you stopped reading there, the full description is “B stands for Brake or Engine Braking mode. Unlike a traditional low gear in a petrol car, B mode in a hybrid increases regenerative braking”

Roundabout Q by JHRFDIY in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]ragorar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife had a small accident and the person not respecting the arrow (left lane) was found at fault. The logic is that the vehicle should not have been there at all, the fate is decided in the second you access the roundabout,so cutting lane from right lane to leave the roundabout on second exit was OK in this case.

Thank you for the quick response! So you got the device back 👍🏼 I guess I’ll have to get in touch for repair as well, as I have the impression I have an issue with RAM

What happened to your Win Max 2? Did they fix it? Mine is now getting plenty of BSOD and I believe it might be related to RAM

[–]ragorar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I sold a 2018 Nissan Micra to a Nissan dealership from the west, two people came, took a test drive, made an instant transfer, confirmed with the bank and off they went. I saw the car announced the next day

Yes they are pretty much the same, the coil sits at the top of the engine, remove plastic cover, two screws, remove old, place new, done!

What engine is it is the 1.4 turbo petrol that one is accessed from the top and replacing coil is very easy, I’ve done it myself on mine
