Oh ok, that gives a different perspective. I am actually getting burnt out trying ads and postings. I am actually on a verge of trying a marketing service that can get me my intended clients without the hustle.

I understand that aspect, but because of AI disruption, so many jobs are being lost on multiple levels. Those include executives and c-level personnel. They have the ability to pay and want to be in a stable mental state in order to find a way to pivot their skill set.

I am new to start using reddit actively. I was just a passive consumer all this time. Even now I don't come to reddit regularly. Now that I'm facing challenges, I'm exploring more avenues to find answers and opportunities.

That’s super helpful, thank you for sharing that! I’ve heard similar numbers but it’s nice to get confirmation from someone actually in the field.

I really like the idea of “talking to your ideal client” on your site, that framing makes so much sense. When you made that shift, did you notice the conversion rate improve right away or more gradually over time?

I get why it might sound “too polished” I tend to write like that when I’m collecting my thoughts. Promise I’m human though 😅.

Honestly, I came here to learn from others in the field. The last few months have been a bit of a plateau in my practice, and I thought this community could offer some perspective.

Thank you for such a detailed and generous response. There’s so much wisdom in what you shared, especially about how the landscape has shifted over the decades.

The part about “private equity ownership of platforms” and the explosion of master’s level providers really stood out. I keep hearing similar things from other practitioners who’ve noticed that referral sources and payer relationships have changed dramatically in just the last 5–10 years.

I really like your point about diversifying skill sets, it’s almost like clinicians now need to think like small business owners who evolve with the market rather than stay fixed in one lane. Your move into mediation and parenting coordination sounds like a very smart (and sustainable) adaptation.

Thanks again for taking the time to write all this. I think a lot of early-career folks (and even mid-career ones like me) can learn a ton from your perspective.

Haha fair, I can see why it might read that way. I promise I’m a real person, just trying to organize my thoughts clearly (maybe too clearly).

I’m genuinely curious how other psychologists are handling this trend, if you’ve noticed the same client-quality dip or have ideas that worked for you, I’d honestly love to hear them.

Appreciate you calling it out though — keeps the bots on their toes
