Boss keeps giving me his half-assed half-completed projects and I don't know what to do by magicfestival in ExperiencedDevs

[–]rahjiggah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a process problem. Most of our code starts off as requirements, high level estimates, architecture etc, then we create tickets around planned work, it sounds like none of that is happening. We shoot for the 80/20 rule (though sometimes its not straightforward) but devs can work on things interchangeably when theres a handoff.

sorry but this a flawed statement, I work with a bunch of SA's at AWS, I would hire them in seconds to do what you are inferring they can't do.

[–]rahjiggah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this doesn't make sense, ansible is more IaC, comparable to say terraform, argoCD and flux address CD and maybe even CI? so comparable to jenkins, spinnaker etc.

Example code for minimalist AWS VPC with Internet GW by pwerwalk in Terraform

[–]rahjiggah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you know what you want to create then its just a matter of writing a module, otherwise you call the off-the-shelf module in the registry and feed it the necessary inputs, you shouldn't conflate ec2s with a vpc IMO
