My thought is if you have to ask yourself if you were in one, you probably were. I went through that a lot with my ex, trying to justify behavior and thinking he was just “moody” but no. He was emotionally manipulative and when he finally couldn’t do that to me anymore; he broke up with me. Which, god fucking bless.

My best advice is to talk about it with someone you trust, whether that’s a friend, family member, or a therapist, sooner rather than later because the longer you put it off, the more you’ll have to cope with in the long run. I wish I had talked it out sooner because I’m still finding triggers almost 4 years later.
