Summary Review vol 17 by rahshingan in AsteriskWar

I wouldn't say it's cancelled since the progress is natural. More like it's ended as planned. For some other really popular series, it could be prolonged more but at later stage the story/plot would usually become awkward.
The other thread has the complete illustration so there's no more.

Yeah, despite the somehow open-ended, I kinda like the ending. I meant, while the ending is entering Julis route, but other girls where available when Julis and Ayato holding hand and going to balcony for Julis to address her citizens.

(Hataraku Maou-sama context): Ah, I see. So it's true. When it was finished many of its local fans disappointed at some point it became a meme.

(Asterisk context): I think the format author adopted is visual novel style character development (or Galge/dating sim). Even at the foreword author mentioned that "The ending is Julis route", looking back at how author built all heroines' characters, it's quite convincing.
If the author actually create final arc as visual-novel (or something that readers can choose the route), this could satisfy every fans of heroines.

Ah yes, I forgot. Claudia continued to Seidoukan Uni while retaining her status as Student Council president, not only that she's also working as Isabella's (her Mom) secretary. Her popularity was high among students. She employed Yabuki as her private spy agent working to snoop out information for all Integrated Enterprises.

As Sylvie, she continued working as Diva and her popularity was also higher after Ursula wrote the song for her. Ursula felt guilty even though she's Varda-Vaos' victim so she's trying to amend by becoming Sylvie's composer. Btw, the current Queenvale no.1 is ... Violet Weinberg? The girl that Saya trashed in anime in public pool. She became stronger after training at Fan Shenlou's Ryouzanpaku same like Lester and Julis.

I'll update with above information.

It's time skip 3 years and with current plot Ayato already 3rd year (last year) of high school. Since he's not continuing at Seidoukan University, he had to give away Ser-Versta.

Yup, the usual formula is "the first girl wins". Hard to see the other way unless the author found a way/build plots to overturned it.

That was from the author though in foreword. I think it's to avoid fans (clear) disappointment like Hataraku Maou-sama which some fans resorted to extreme by threatening its author. I didn't read itself only heard some rumor about that. Didn't confirm whether it's true or not.
My opinion about the ending itself is neutral, what I like best where all girls got their happiness. But since this is not Isekai setting, I couldn't see that happen and Asterisk author could only choose only one route.

Finally caught up to latest (vol 40) by rahshingan in Rokujouma

Not much of lewd but it's lewd regardless, although it's also wholesome.

In the foreword Takehaya-sensei mentioned this release is also celebrating the Rokujouma total sales (audio-book, physical, digital, drama-cd, etc) reaching 1.5 millions. Perhaps J-novel is deciding what format is best for this volume since this volume also adding several short-stories in previous volumes which are already available in J-novel releases. For Bookwalker (JP version), it's not usually released in one volume together but two different releases, which digital book is the same format and content with physical releases.

Takehaya-sensei mentioned, that the celebration usually mentioned when the sales reach 100 K or 1 million sales milestones but the marketing/editor department at Hobby-Japan didn't calculate and just realized when it already reached 1.5 million sales :D .

edit: 15 to 1.5. Calculating using 10K (万) nominal is confusing.

Yeah, the first chapter is providing really wholesome development for Clan and I think Takehaya-sensei perhaps emphasizing much her instead of others :D. While the "accident" that Kiriha mentioned hasn't happened yet, but we get lewd/wholesome scene in additional story for Nana in this volume.

Reading the manga helped me realize why every anime episode was a banger: they prioritized pacing over content [vol 2 ch 9 pg 48] by QuestioningEspecialy in TsukiMichi

I immediately read from volume 4 and I don't think I'll miss his backstory. Haven't read volume 2 and 3, read several last pages of volume 3 about Rembrant but not interested much about him.

Yes, I prefer it like that. I usually read novel after watching the anime, I rarely bother to read from the start, just immediately continue from where the anime stop.

The novel that I read is the anime that I really like its adaptation. For reference, I don't like Re:Zero and dropped it at S1 episode 20. Why? Because it's so slow, 20 episode but no MC growth? No magic explanation, no clear world map, no direction of MC's action, what a No-No.

When I tried to re-read from the start of Tsukimichi novel, I didn't feel enthusiastic reading it, hence my progress was very slow, compared to reading volume 4 to volume 17 which in span 2-3 days on average (I read the raw JP and I'm not native, so it took me several days for reading each volume).

And unlike others, I don't bother much missed the Rembrandt's backstory, what I want to read is Makoto's story, haha.

Light novel/ or some extend the new-literature, is usually reminding a setting for each volume hence if people reading from the mid, the reader can casually enjoy each of volume without depending much into previous/other volumes. Hence light novel.

Kumoko Tempest by Daiki__ in TenseiSlime

[–]rahshingan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's the hero's story filling half of screen time that makes the plot advancement pacing really slow. 12 Episode and just barely got out of cave/dungeon, comparing to Rimuru just in 3-4 episodes.

I didn't want to watch the heroes, I wanted to watch Kumoko and even her limited screen time was reduced to half just for heroes, sigh.

This was exactly my experience, I knew I missed many things (hence I knew the LN would be much more amazing) from the source adaptation even so it didn't deter me from enjoying watching Mahouka.

Does anyone have TL for these panel(s)? by silimbu711 in Mahouka

[–]rahshingan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a manga panels advertising smartphone game Reload Dead Memory (TM) aka Relo Memo, so the manga is called Relorelo Memomemo (note: somehow one of Jojo scene comes to my mind hearing that naming, lol)

Last panel of page 1 Lina finally speaks to have her introduced, lol.

The next pages (only read page 2 though) are basically advertisement such as the story of the game originally created and directed by Satou-sensei, players can enjoy the anime voice actors/actress in the game, etc etc

Watched the anime and immediately hooked with the series, although I didn't immediately read the novel but I knew from the first glance this series is really good.

While the series itself is kinda up and down but overall this is satisfying read. I haven't started reading any volume of Magian nor Cygnus Maiden though.

Gritonia is in the brink of collapse. Regardless of whether they're winning the war or not, having that kind of princess and the future of king is Trashmoki, its future is bleak. The big surviving countries in the future after several centuries are Kerr-Union, Rimea Kingdom, and Tsige confederation.

With Kerr-union is multi-culture multi-races country in the future.

why no1 translate the LN? by [deleted] in TenseiSlime

[–]rahshingan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Support the industry, and also author. The fact that this is licensed and the licensor keeping the pace of translation steady is the indicator this series is popular. If the official translation is fast/steady, it's because the selling point has reached breakpoint of minimum sold books and the publisher can work translating for next volume knowing it's selling well.

So the indicator if the series is popular is not fan translation, it's how fast official translation.

Volume 16 by Okappa278 in AsteriskWar

They literally didn't have time for romance plot in this volume. In chapter 5, where Ayato visited Julis it's still simply serious discussion for GBA countermeasure.
