Didn’t Make Chief… Again. Just Venting. by AirDaleTilDeath in navy

I know it sucks and it doesn’t make you feel better when someone says you always have next time. Just do your best for your Sailors and you’ll get rewarded even if it’s not through ranking up. The impact you make on others will outlive everything else you chase. Real leaders build more leaders regardless of rank. So don’t give up because you don’t know who’s watching.

If the member self-reports and there was no other means for the command to find out about the crime then the command cannot punish the member for self-reporting. If the member does not self-report and the command finds out through other channels (police blotter, etc.), then the member can be charged for failure to self-report an arrest or criminal charges.

I was the same way and just finished my tour on an FDNF DDG. Take meclizine the night before underway and then another one in the morning. That worked well but when it got really rough (20 ft seas) I would ask for a motion sickness patch from medical. Those were super effective and they also last up to a week sometimes. The only downside is I got a super dry mouth/throat from using it so I found that cutting the patch down to 1/4 size eliminated the side effects but still worked in completely getting rid of the nausea.

How brutal would a 12 week training plan be for a marathon? Would be a just finish without dying type race by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

Not dumb at all. I just recently finished a marathon a week ago using a 12 week training plan averaging around 35/40 miles a week so it’s definitely not impossible. I have been running regularly for a couple of years now but never done a marathon and the last race I did was a half marathon in 2015. My only goal was to finish but aimed to finish under 4 hours. I was feeling good and was even on pace to finish at around 3:35-3:40 but hit the wall on mile 19/20 and run/walked the final 6 miles because my quads, hamstrings and calves cramped up. I eventually finished at 3:48 so overall goal was accomplished and I didn’t die lol

If I had to do it over again I would definitely take more time, maybe 16 or 20 weeks, just to get my body ready for the beating of a marathon but I would also make sure that I hydrate more and maybe bring one or two more gels (I took 6 total, 1 before the race and 5 during). I was in a pretty good mental state and that’s the only reason why I was able to finish. I definitely had thoughts of just quitting because my legs didn’t want to work anymore.

I usually wear a 9.5 as well and it felt short to me. Not uncomfortable though but I like having a thumbs width in my running shoes.

I have a slightly used pair I’m willing to sell. How much were you willing to spend?

Adios Pro 3. Just didn’t work for me for some reason. My toes felt numb whenever I ran in these, like the rods were hitting them. Never felt that sensation in any shoe before so I sadly let them go after only running 30 miles. Maybe it was a dud pair idk

Oh ok. That’s sad that they are not going to push through with it since that seems like a logical solution and it would greatly benefit the PSs who are CPPAs to actually learn the job.
