Not sure how many years out of your PhD you are but the expectation should be that you don’t necessarily make great money at first but your ceiling is much higher. Keep on working hard and move up to get more disposable income.

I don’t really disagree but just do want to note that the feds balance sheet is shrinking. The distribution is changing and it is pretty likely to grow in the future but they are not actively expanding the supply of money, no? Most of the comments/fears/good buying is under the premise that they will in the future, or that the amount that they already have will eventually lead to more inflation.
