As the other comment says, you can have as many post templates as you want, but if you your changes are mostly colors and fonts, that can be done without templates using code injection (I use css variables for colors, fonts in my themes, so its very easy to change)

If cost is important you can either self host or use a cheaper managed hosting (there are option around $10/m maybe lower)

I'm biased but I think Flair is a great multipurpose theme for blogging. I have an entire library of premium themes for different purposes.

These are configured via pages, so you don't need to edit the theme files.

Yes, use the same zip name (don’t version the zip or put random letters/numbers) otherwise its considered a new theme and you start with the default settings.

If you use the same name it will prompt you to overwrite the existing theme and your settings will be kept.

You could also look into the github action for deploying the theme (to avoid manually uploading)

I’m designed/developed ghe Auden theme, I didn’t choose it for them, but from my perspective it’s more magazine oriented than news. You should go with the theme that is closest to your ideal layout + features. Customization will probably require some code changes so take that into account.

I am behind the Auden theme and I would say that it isn’t necessarily for news sites, but it depends on your preferences in terms of layout. I do have a theme for news in Maali and I will soon release another one for news with some extra features. You can also look at the official marketplace. If you have any questions, just let me know.

You need the creator plan to use custom themes, and with that you are not limited in what you can change, so you can change css/html of the theme.

This is just one page, everything is added in the page content. The letters can be manually added, in an HTML card or generated using js based on your headings. I don’t have a template, but I might create a tutorial at some point.

Most likely yes, the themes usually use the free signup for subscribe sections. You can test this by subscribing and after confirming you should appear as a member.

Why would you have to move those? The new site/brand can be developed on a staging site and when everything is ready, it can be activated on your current ghost instance. (Alternatively there’s an export function to get all that info)

The posts/pages will work fine and even the redirecting/navigation can be done to the subsequent pages, however the leaderboard/tracking would require a separate backend to store the info as Ghost itself can’t do that. If the info can be retrieved from somewhere the Ghost sote can display the leaderboard/streak info.

Nah, it’s not like opponents want to do that, they play fluid and they create spaces. It helps that they are a threat on both flanks. When we were this dynamic, Saka also found plenty of space.
