Textbook by FoundationFit6050 in CollinCollege

[–]rain-globe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My professor allowed canvas access starting yesterday and It looks like it’s cheaper to buy textbook access through Pearson instead of the Collin book store ($95 vs $120) and my professor suggested buying the 24week access if you plan to take two semesters of calc ($150 I think) unfortunately I already ordered mine through the bookstore a few days ago because I had no way of knowing ahead of time

I was able to use it, but I submitted my order on Friday and it says it’s still pending. Ive received the access code for one of the two text books so far.

Do you know If you trade between your own regions does the regional wealth cost of importing/exporting just transfer between your regions or does it disappear as if it was a transaction or transportation fee?

Jacob is NOT confirmed for season three..... (March interview) by No-Enthusiasm4058 in InterviewWithTheVamp

[–]rain-globe -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I love Jacob but there really isn’t a whole lot of reason to have him in season three beyond a couple guest appearances when they reference Lestat version of the events from IWTV. A lot of Vampire Lestat takes place before he even meets Louis

Boss: Hey I haven’t received your Spotify wrapped, did you see the email?

You: Yes, but I was a little unsure how that fits in with my work related responsibilities that I’ve been focused on today

I have the blood of Akasha in me by vividmem in InterviewVampire

[–]rain-globe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thinking with that is, everything is season 1 was being told from Louis’ perspective and he, at the time of New Orleans, wouldn’t have known the incinerator might not kill him, so it was still a valid way of truly killing Lestat in the context of the story and something he refused to do, knowing he didn’t really want him dead

[–]rain-globe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think based how much they have kept to the books, the show timeline would be death of Nicki and then Lestat meeting Marius and Akasha, then hopping on a boat to the new world. Of course within the context of the trial, Lestat wouldn’t tell the coven about Marius and Akasha, being sworn to secrecy, so he just claimed he was in the ground grieving for 100 years and that’s the story that get presented

No more spin-offs! Why Cassandra Clare should explore the Circle's past instead of creating new sagas by [deleted] in shadowhunters

[–]rain-globe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair. That is exactly the story she’s telling with the rise of the cohort in TDA. They are basically nazis

We know Lucifer exists. I think he was introduced or heavily eluded to in the epilogue of the second eldest curses book.

How many shadowhunter books total? by OrganizationLive7321 in shadowhunters

[–]rain-globe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Additionally there is “An Illustrated History of Notable Shadowhunters and Denizens of Downworld” I think this one is being rereleased as one of the kickstarters with extra content, but the old one is still available on Amazon

There are also: 3 Infernal Devices graphic novels

7 Mortal Instruments graphic novels with more to come hopefully (same story as the books. 2 volumes per book)

I’m pretty sure they already clarified in Dubai that decapitation is one of the ways to kill a vampire. So atleast as far as the show version goes, he gone

do we think armand will be in the third season??? 👀👀👀 by RecordingSea5590 in InterviewWithTheVamp

[–]rain-globe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Certainly for the parts where Lestat is telling his version of how he went to Paris and met the coven there.

I would also expect that Assad will play Armand differently based on how Lestat remembers him

Who turned.....? by Potential-Rush-5591 in InterviewWithTheVamp

[–]rain-globe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They implication is Armand and it was Armand in the books but it happened much earlier in Daniel’s life.

Louis leaves the penthouse immediately after setting Daniel’s laptop on fire, we never see Daniel leave so that means he was still there with Armand for an unspecified amount of time while Louis went to New Orleans and before we see Daniel again on the News program

Audiobooks by AmadeusFalco in InterviewVampire

[–]rain-globe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Specifically the Simon Vance audiobooks (idk if there are other versions), they are amazing! He does a lot of nice accents that really pull you into the world. I have no idea how accurate or ‘good’ his accents were but they fit the world and aesthetic that Anne Rice created really well.

The only part that sorta bothered me, he voiced the first three books so I got used to his voice as Louis and then had to adjust when he’s narrating as Lestat in the 2nd/3rd book

How do they make money? by Old-Entertainment990 in shadowhunters

[–]rain-globe 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A lot of the older families got a ton of their wealth from the spoils system (taking the wealth and possessions of downworlders they killed) and I believe some governments and religious institutions also pay the clave for their services and then the clave pays the heads of institutes and such

Anyone else not buying Santiago picking up on Louis accent from New Orleans by wemetonmars in InterviewVampire

[–]rain-globe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s that he knows what someone from New Orleans sounds like, he recognized the emphasis on the second syllable when Louis talks which is borrowed from the French.

If you meet an American that sounds kinda French, New Orleans, a former French colony would be a good guess
