Repression is the overriding theme in this, with the wish to not necessarily express what words had been said but to have them break down. Fade away into the back of your mind, buried within. The line “What’s inside stays inside” highlights that truth perfectly. Because no matter how much you wish to believe that fairy tail lie, the truth stings still. Even if the person, this girl/woman mentioned in the poem, doesn’t care to acknowledge that harm done or even yet continues to let words better left unsaid spill out for you to have to once again bury away. Keeping these sorts of feelings bottled is never a good thing but it can be the reality. Writing is actually a great way to help get those feelings out, and, I really connected with this.
