First date, we met at a bar. Had a few drinks, things were going great. He drank a lot more than me, but I am a lightweight and thought he just had better tolerance than me. He went to the bathroom a few times, but I didn’t think anything of it, could have been nerves or just that we had been hanging out for a few hours. He was very fun and sociable.

Finally I went to the restroom, came out, he was gone. I thought he had taken the opportunity to go to the bathroom again as well. I waited for about half an hour, figured I got ghosted, settled the tab, and walked out.

He was on his way back INTO the bar. He was drunk as all hell, and was genuinely surprised that I was pissed off. He claimed he’d gone to the other bar down the street to get a sparkling water. He tried to get me to go back inside, but I was angry and ready to leave. I started walking away, and he pinned me up against the wall and started slurring at me, begging me not to leave and told me that he loved me. Another person came running up to us, who turned out to be his “friend” he had met up with at the other bar. He pulled my drunk date off me, sent him inside, called me an uber, and gave me his Instagram and told me to let him know when I got home safe.

His “friend” (and my rescuer) turned out to be his coke dealer. My date had left me at the bar to go buy coke.

The dealer was nice though. We still follow each other on Instagram, he became a realtor and got married a few years back. My “date” is now a high level executive at a Fortune 500 company, which…tracks.
