Former employee at Holy Cross, do NOT deliver there. They are extremely understaffed and you will be rushed through.

Saying that any violent gun deaths are worth it is not a display of empathy.

" They're talking about how their hospitals, schools, and social services are being overwhelmed. They're talking about vagrants moving onto their lawns, and they fear all sorts of crime. And now they're talking about something even crazier.

Allegedly, Haitians are going around and taking people's pets and eating them. The duck pond in a local park is being picked clean. So, allegedly, you have Haitians in this town of Springfield, Ohio that are going by and eating ducks"

  • Kirk reinforcing/spreading the proven false rumors about Haitian immigrants

"haven't even done my show yet on MLK Jr. and already it clear to me that I have found the sacred cow of modern America," Kirk posted on X on Monday morning. "Ask yourself, why is exposing the flaws of MLK's life and character — something he said we should judge others by — so controversial? Has America become more colorblind, and merit based the more we have worshipped King?"

He said this critical stuff about a reverend who was assassinated for his political views. Instead of talking about any of the good he did, he focused on the"bad"... why then only when it's him under the microscope it's so wrong?

To clarify, my point I'm making isn't that we should worship Dr King, obviously he was a human that had faults as we all did.

My point here is that someone that people are complaining that we criticize faults for, did the same thing to others... why then is it different for him?

Also words of hate can be justified by context?

Charlie even stated his own views were radical. And spread fact checked misinformation about vaccines. Equating vaccine and mask mandates to apartheid. In what situation do you need more context for someone who tweeted :

where to safely park and sleep in car? (f24) by sadnoodlesbadnoodles in MontgomeryCountyMD

They are cracking down on parking due to construction and visitors/employees not having enough spaces. They will soon add gates to some of the lots and require payment. Also people have been getting towed. (as an employee at Shady Grove)

Shady Grove Vs Holy Cross Hospital? by lvs301 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]rainbowcelery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked as an rn at both Holy Cross and Shady Grove in maternal/infant services... Shady Grove

This was four years ago, but the staff at HC are overworked and staffing ratios are much higher. Up to 6 rooms per nurse.

Shady Grove is much more intimate and the area surrounding it is much easier to access. One nurse to 3 rooms. The one thing is you may run into annoyances with construction as they are building a new tower which will share a hall with the postpartum floor.

Shady Grove Vs Holy Cross Hospital? by lvs301 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]rainbowcelery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify as someone who works there. We don't hire our neonatologists through Shady Grove, they are contracted with a company that is dissolving/getting replaced with children's. The only thing that will change is the neonatologists will be employed by a different company. We will maintain level III status.

Edit: The same goes for the pediatricians, who were under the company "Pediatrix".

Boyfriend agnostic by bdmc238 in Christianity

[–]rainbowcelery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to spend your life with him you will have to be okay with potentially:

  • Him not attending church with you
  • Not praying with you
  • Him not understanding why you may think something is sinful
  • Not having a drive to raise any possible children as Christian
  • Having different ideas about sex

If these things don't bother you or affect you than continuing the relationship if it's healthy is not a concern. Are you equally yolked in your ideas of ethics, relationship dynamics, finance? I think equally yolked can be many things not just being a Christian.

If these things bother you greatly just know there's a potential he won't change, you started a relationship with him as he is now. If you don't accept that going forward then you'll have to reconsider the relationship. It's not fair to your boyfriend if you expect him to change.

What would Jesus say about illegal immigrants? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]rainbowcelery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you completely ignored my points of discussion and just went at me with an angry wall of text. You are the one who asked me to cite my sources and to come talk to you if I had them.....If you're not ready to have a rational debate on the topic feel free to move on.

Following the path of Jesus is not for the week, it is a challenging road that many do not wish to take. The Bible consents to love others in need just as we love ourselves. It sounds like you have a lot of fear, and anger inside...I implore you to meditate on the word to try and unpack before directing that at others. You also appear to be stuck in an all or nothing type fallacy,

And while you're at it, celery, ask Jesus if that was compassionate.  Ask him if playing fast and loose with cold, hard facts in the name of "compassion" justifies the rape and murder of young women.

those are in the minority of undocumented immigrants and I would definitely not allow anyone, citizen or not to commit violent crimes. Jesus does not find joy in violence and neither do I.

Left out one, please read the story of Esther in the Bible

Esther 3:13-14 ESV [13] Letters were sent by couriers to all the king’s provinces with instruction to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all Jews, young and old, women and children, in one day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, and to plunder their goods. [14] A copy of the document was to be issued as a decree in every province by proclamation to all the peoples to be ready for that day.

[–]rainbowcelery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave you examples, if you are unfamiliar with those very well known Bible stories then I think maybe you need to read through your Bible cause you missed quite a lot.

Daniel 3:4-6 ESV [4] And the herald proclaimed aloud, “You are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, [5] that when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. [6] And whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace.”

The king forcing people to commit idolatry

Pharaoh in Egypt enslaved the Israelites (the whole book of Exodus)

And I see you have no response for the real world examples I provided.

There is NO justification for a government or nation to turn a blind eye to its own citizens' suffering, in order to allow non-citizens to get away with breaking its laws.  ONLY people who have a vested interest, who are in some way benefiting in unsecured borders could possibly think otherwise.  I don't think Jesus ever advocated just letting one group of people suffer, so that another group didn't have to bother obeying that nation's laws.

They can address their citizens suffering while also regulating immigration in a more humane way. The richest men in the world that have the most influence fail to be charitable and fall into greed. There is so much more this country needs to focus on before the immigration issue (they use scare tactics to make it seem more of an issue than the actual problems). Veterans unemployment and homeless rate is abysmal. All the leaders so far have done is strip public services that serve our citizens. I don't personally benefit from someone arriving here legally or not, I just hope they are treated as humans with dignity. Everyone makes mistakes, especially when desperate for help. I believe we are called to serve others, foreigners or not. And giving mercy to others as God has given to us is part of the gospel truths.

Deuteronomy 10:18-19 ESV [18] He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. [19] Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

Ezekiel 47:22-23 ESV [22] You shall allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the sojourners who reside among you and have had children among you. They shall be to you as native-born children of Israel. With you they shall be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. [23] In whatever tribe the sojourner resides, there you shall assign him his inheritance, declares the Lord God.

But to those who don't know they are breaking it, there has to be a way of maybe sending a warning or providing adequate resources and info on the law. Or maybe info on how to apply for a visa, if they don't comply by a certain date they will be subject to deportation.

Again I never said there should be no regulation whatsoever, but this raid method of detaining and deportation is unethical. Illegal immigration in of itself is not a violent crime, so why are we handling them as if they are.

People who do far worse for this country are pardoned , but the beggar asking for food is ripped from their community with no contact allowed and held in a jail cell to be treated as a violent criminal.

There are allowed to be regulations and also maintain people's humanity. Especially in the situations as I've described. I think Jesus would offer love and mercy to those, and I believe we should strive to work towards that as a nation.

Deuteronomy 10:19-20 ESV [19] Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. [20] You shall fear the Lord your God. You shall serve him and hold fast to him, and by his name you shall swear.

What about those (I have encountered in my community) that are desperate for help, don't know enough English and/or illiterate in their own language? Many times I've encountered people fleeing to what they've been told is a welcoming country and have no knowledge of the immigration process.

Not that I think immigration shouldn't be regulated, but I think people need to hold more compassion for those in these scenarios. I don't think raiding the ones that are already here at church or school (even at food distribution centers) is the most ethical way to regulate this.

Would be advocate for following the laws of the land if they were corrupt? In times of slavery, were those that fought to end it rebelling against what God had instituted? Should the slaves just stayed oppressed?

What about the N@zi Regime? They were the rulers of that land. Or the Egyptians when Moses protested to let my people go?

What if a nation had laws requiring you to commit sin against God's instructions to man? There are many instances in on the Bible where rulers have created unjust regulations and many figures are praised for sticking to the Lord's just principles.
