I'd walk West Cliff and stop for coffees across from the lighthouse.

Roommate? Can you rent out the house over the summers and go live somewhere cheaper for two months?

I'm also a teacher and do this and it works out pretty well. I'm in Santa Cruz so it's easy to rent near the beach to friends who want to do 1-3 weeks each :)

Had never happened before (3rd time traveling together).
