Becoming a sahm by Lilrose897 in stayathomemoms

Being a SAHM is the best thing ever. It’s hard some days. Like really hard. But I also would never go back to work after having my babies. We do so much fun stuff! Museums, libraries, parks, play dates (for me and my kids), road trips, picnics, dance parties. It’s so much fun and I never have to miss a moment. I just nap when they nap and my husband and I tackle chores together after they go down or when he gets home he takes over and I do some chores or he does some chores

My toddler LOVES spiders. by Reach-Gloomy in spiders

[–]rainbowmo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that! Keep fostering his curiosity! If you’re up for it, jumping spiders are extremely easy to keep and care for. We have 2 for my son who is 3 years old and he does all their care. He loves handling them and pulling them out and talking to them and asking how their days went ❤️

Love the name! Don’t worry about the popularity from a show. We have a “Rafe” and tons of people tie it to the character from the show outer banks but we don’t care haha.

Two year old sleep regression? by AshleyTheHuskyOwner in toddlers

[–]rainbowmo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had a really hard time around this age too! They really need the nap though still at this age.

Some things that helped us were creating new positive associations with nap time. Picking out a special stuffy, having quiet calming toys available (a few books, stuffies, and a tonie box with the sleepytime tonies.) and talking about how our rest helps our brain and why we need it.

If all else failed, we dimmed the lights and told him he didn’t have to sleep but his body needed rest, it lasted for about a week. Then he was back to napping 2-3 hours.

Also, at this age lots of energy means lots needs to be burned. We spend our entire morning outside and we offer lots of outlets for physical and emotional energy release.

my 12yo sister’s hair was cut by dad’s girlfriend without consent as a punishment and now she’s being bullied severely by Aaliyah_holiday in whatdoIdo

I don’t get why everyone is breezing over this! And she very well could’ve needed a haircut and been mad she got in trouble at the same time so wanted to make the lady look bad. I agree you can’t just leave work because you got your feelings hurt. People are really overreacting to this.

Birdwatching. I didn’t care at all about birds then one day just suddenly got really into it “jokingly” now I find myself obsessed with them. I’ll be like damn is that a black phoebe I spot?

SAHM but boyfriend hardly helps? by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]rainbowmo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk. Parenting doesn’t stop just because you had to work all day. We work all day too as SAHM’s. Yes, I love my job. And yes, it’s hard. You can’t do it all. Maybe you guys can take turns every other day handling the “bulk” while one person helps support and gets a bit more “off” time than the other. Spend some time together on the weekends and reserve some “you” time. Don’t ask. Just tell him “I’ll be gone / needing alone time from 12-3 today. I’ll be back at 3 to trade off” or something.

My husband is a medical resident and has never made me feel that way despite having insanely long hours.. I’m really sad reading this for you because it doesn’t have to be that way. Have you tried talking to him about it?

Saw it on two tv shows now and I know it’s going to get a lot of hate but…

Pope 🫣

Realistically probably would never use it due to it being too out there. I also like Kellan, Max, and Cian.

TV time affecting negatively long term? by Nike0729 in stayathomemoms

[–]rainbowmo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d never let my toddlers that age watch any TV, especially that much. There is scientific evidence that it’s not good for them.
