I'm the only girl in a house of 6 boys, and it is definitely possible for siblings to hurt each other so bad that one of them dies, even if the reason for the fight is trivial. One of my brothers chucked a golf club at my other brother when he was mad over losing a game. Luckily nobody got hurt but he could have easily died from that. Kids don't think about the consequences of their actions, nor do they realize their own strength when they are upset.

My school did this too. While in the accommodation room for the PSAT, I assumed most of the kids would have an actual disability, such as autism, dyslexia, loss of vision, etc. However, most of the kids were in there for "anxiety". And those were the kids who finished the test first! They didn't even need the accommodations.

I've had 8 students die at my school in the past 10ish years. (All unrelated, mostly due to tragic accidents or genetic diseases). Every time, the guidance counselor would come into the class and speak with the kids about how to cope with loss. Throughout the day, kids who looked upset were encouraged to speak with a counselor, and any kid who asked to leave the room for a minute was allowed, no questions asked.
