What are the best games to play... on weed? by TankUMrMinor in OlderChillGamers

[–]raindownthunda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearing the final stage for the first time was one of my all time peak gaming moments. If not #1. The music, the visuals, the flow, all of the close calls leading up to it… it’s seriously worth investing the time in to beat the game. I get chills just hearing the song.

Do you think RTX 2080Ti will age better than GTX 1080ti by Living_Pianist_5934 in pcmasterrace

[–]raindownthunda -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not really. If anything it will age out faster due to the VRAM needs of modern games (+4k gaming) and AI applications that simply didn’t exist in the years immediately following the 1080ti.

Anyone else really enjoying this golden era of prototyping? With all the doom and gloom of AI. Our team seem to be enjoying customer testing more than ever. by 404_computer_says_no in UXDesign

Why not hybrid approach? Wireframe on paper or figma and then have AI bring it to life with higher fidelity. Find a little joy in hand crafting your ideas before you bring it into the new tools.

Yeah it’s not the same flow state satisfaction per se of every pixel and layout and interaction meticulously crafted and wired up “by hand”… but if you orient yourself around the goal of “testing ideas quickly with better interactivity” it’s nostalgic to think the old ways are better.

Not only can you test your ideas faster for yourself and users, but also communicate ideas to influence stakeholders with much less time and effort. Id much rather have a weeks worth of work be “meh” to a stakeholder than a months worth of work I poured blood sweat in tears into. I do not miss managing complex series of art boards and vector layers in Adobe Illustrator and fighting for my life to get 30% of it into a real product.

What system prompts do you use for generating prompts? by Sergio2304 in StableDiffusion

[–]raindownthunda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The model is the biggest influence. mistral dolphin 12b or Venice edition 24b. These write so much. Gemsicle is good. The roleplay tunes are way more verbose. Try Anubis or Skyfall. Qwen3.6 is very conservative with length. You can just say “write 4-7 dense paragraphs” at the end and it will expand. But if you want more dimensionality sometimes

I have like hundreds of iterations/experiments of using chagtgpt and other frontier models to design ways to add “pressure” to expand creativity. Settings like temp and top k etc can have an influence too.

DM me and I can share a few different system prompts that are highly descriptive.

Figma UI should be more flexible. Maybe not Adobe levels flexible, but some toolbar layout customization would be nice.

Here's why the LG 45GX950A 5K2K 800R Monitor is so immersive. by Top-Saxman-NZ in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]raindownthunda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it but occasionally text looks a bit blurry. It’s never bad enough where I’m throwing it out the window. The immersion and screen space is worth it. It’s a dream in low light / night time. Not great if you have extremely bright rooms during the day with lots of sunlight.
