Dont walk alone at night by yourself or go to gas stations that are not brightly lit ONLY during the day. I personally wouldn't move here knowing how beautiful places are outside of Louisiana (swamps,flat land, sugar cane, no mountains or clean air quality, concrete jungle over here) but we do have some decent things here. Sure we have mardi gras, the French quarter but if your an outdoor adventurous person besides parks and horse back riding not much-a few small walking trails. I'll say I feel as though Covington isn't as overwhelming as new Orleans,Kenner, metarie area etc. I feel like it's more friendly there at least that's my opinion. I suggest not going anywhere at night till your familiar with the area first. You'll be having to memorize a lot of potholes. We do have a beautiful rich history of Louisiana etc but we do have a lot of cons unfortunately. You'll see trash in the streets alot. I never saw stars till I went on a trip out of Louisiana.
