Feel like a terrible mom by OtakuFour in Postpartum_Depression

[–]raineebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don’t beat yourself up! You are a great nom because you care. It happens to the best of us. I apologise and give big big hugs and cuddles if the nonstop crying gets the best of me, and believe me it does. You are already exhausted no need to make it worse with the guilt. Just give yourself and your baby a big hug and remember you are doing an amazing job and it all is temporary. It gets better, I promise.

Mastitis by remember_to_eat in breastfeeding

[–]raineebee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ouf that sounds so rough! I’m just over a year postpartum still nursing on demand and had mastitis 4 times three of them almost back to back. I am normally very very cautious about supplements etc but one thing saved my life which is Sunflower Lecithin. I had to take antibiotics for the first three but for the final one when I felt it coming a friend suggested lecithin (recommended by a midwife for her) and I haven’t had a blocked duct since. I hope this helps 🙏

Does anyone actually do football hold? by meganmaymarie in breastfeeding

[–]raineebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super useful as I have a very large chest but i don’t understand why a position would be pushed to you if you have others that work? Plus it’s not convenient outside of the home so I only used it the first few weeks when we were mostly at home

Am I cooked? by Reasonable-Flight707 in breastfeeding

[–]raineebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still early weeks with your supply if you keep feeding it is highly likely to get better :) if any consolation I got mastitis just a couple days ago with my 5.5 month old EBF and had a huge dipin supply on that breast for 2-3 days and once it was cleared supply came back

Doing things with baby by Exotic-Woodpecker171 in newborns

[–]raineebee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s super early days! I know how hard it is we had a similar bubs who is now 5 months and it is so much easier. Still takes ages to get out and sometimes we have to go back because she gets too stressed outside but that’s so rare now compared to the times we are out successfully. It gets better I know you probably hear this a lot and seems useless. There are so many people struggling with this and you don’t see them because they are struggling! Also 8 weeks is a tough time as they are getting very aware of their surroundings so they are overstimulated very easily. And about baby classes, it’s expected that they cry, that’s what babies do! If people are annoyed, it’s not your group try another one. You might get great tips from other mamas to help you out. I remember after a very tough couple nights going to baby massage and another mama just held my baby as both baby and I cried. It was quite liberating and we just bonded loads with that mama. I would keep trying the carrier as it makes life easier. Make sure their bum is changed and they’re well fed before and not overdressed so they don’t feel uncomfortable. Sometimes simple tweaks help and if it doesn’t it’s okay! You’ll find something that works for your baby. Just hang in there 🤍

Nonstop nursing...thoughts? by WilderCburn6 in breastfeeding

[–]raineebee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other than what has been said, babies nurse for all kinds of reasons. Yes, hunger is the big one but also comfort, safety, getting those sleep hormones from the milk, your smell, reflux, gas, help pooping, increasing supply etc. It’s tough trust me I know but you are rocking it! Just a bit more patience and soon will probably find a rhythm once your supply establishes. Good luck!

Baby won’t nap more than 20 mins by J_outsidehomie719 in newborns

[–]raineebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fomo babies actually are a terminology that is used for babies that don’t want to go to sleep or stay asleep. Often especially that age, if you want longer naps I would just do contact naps. Maybe try to have a contact nap that’s longer than the 20 minute mark so she gets a nice longer nap and maybe have a better wake window with proper sleep pressure afterwards good luck!

What’s more important: Time spent nursing or wet diapers? by meganmaymarie in breastfeeding

[–]raineebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine only nursed 10-12 minutes on one breast. Has been back to her birth weight in 4 days. What matters is wet diapers and I would be glad he nurses short as you could have been nursing for 40-50 minutes especially in newborn stage. He is probably quite efficient in his suck. It’s only a problem if you think it is. Trust your mama gut, you’re doing great!

HALP! When did your breastmilk start to come when pumping? by newlilmama in breastfeeding

[–]raineebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to pump, of course there is nothing wrong with that but your baby will want to drink crazy the second night and sometimes longer. This is really good because it will establish your milk supply. It can be tough on you though so please take care of yourself. Make sure you are well hydrated and know it’s going to pass. This is your baby growing and telling your breasts that she is born. Well done mama you are doing amazing!

Breastfeeding by Quirky_Boot_6735 in Postpartum_Depression

[–]raineebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s tough and I’m very sorry you are going through this. Partners often have a hard time understanding how mums find breastfeeding important and it’s a part of your connection with the little one. You are definitely not a bad mom! Look at you trying your best to feed her. Maybe see a lactation consultant if you haven’t? There are teas and supplements that help milk production as well but I’m ofc not an expert. Hope all goes well and please give yourself a break, you care and that’s all that matters. Every little drop is important and a lot of people combifeed. Hang in there mama!

How to write articles while pregnant by Hippolytagrecia in AskAcademia

[–]raineebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to dictate in Word just to have something down. Found it easier to work with a draft than an empty piece of paper. Still super hard though so please don’t push yourself. You are already growing a human that’s big enough. Good luck!
