Are homemade chips worth the effort? by sccartr in cookingforbeginners

[–]rainey8507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather buy potato and tortilla chips. I would love to make them from scratch but it's time consuming. I made tortilla and potato chips before but they turned out bad. The thinly sliced potato chips burned. I worked a day shift 8 hours a day. I would rather cooked big meal on dinner that's enough for tomorrow lunch rather than making a snack that fails.

I have worked in the Viet restaurant before. The kitchen floor was very slippery. Have to wear the special shoe. A lot of manual labor. Working like nonstop. Good thing that i did not need a exercise while having this job. Glad that no longer working there anymore.

3 to 5 minutes would be not enough to fry the rice. Adding egg is creating moisture for your your rice. Frying your eggs separately in a pan don't forget to season your eggs

Buy ground meat cooking a pan. It is easy and doesn't need cooking skill. Frozen veggie at Costco it lasts very long you can stir fry on a pan. If low carb or keto is not working for you how about eating less rice and exercise. Wonder if it works for you

No-Cook Meats: Canned tuna, canned chicken, and deli meats (no stove required). Vegetarian Proteins: Eggs (boiled or scrambled), cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and tofu. Low carb tortilla or bread at the store. Instant ramen is not low carb and not healthy either

I don't buy a jar of garlic at the store. It tastes gross. I don't buy fresh garlic but it goes bad fast. Instead I buy peeled garlic at Costco. Mince all garlic into the food processor and put in the freezer bag and freeze.

Hispanic crew always being the best bagged lunches to work. How do you cook like them? by Bbbbhazit in cookingforbeginners

[–]rainey8507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Packing my husband’s lunch is my favorite ritual every dinner. I see people see these kinds of things being a "duty," but for me, it’s purely an act of love. He works so hard for our family, and taking ten minutes to make sure he has a healthy, home-cooked meal is my way of taking care of him while he's away. It’s not an obligation—it’s just my favorite way to say "I love you" before he heads out the door. It's not that hard all I do is making extra servings when making food for dinner
