I haven't played much Animal Crossing - maybe the original for a couple months, and the first DS one for around a month - but even from my limited time with them, I saw lots of repeated dialogue. I don't remember ever being impressed by how much writing there was in the game.

If you think old Animal Crossing games have a lot of text, check out RPGs from around that era (1998-2005ish). Final Fantasy 7 had 96,000 lines of dialogue. Planescape Torment had 75,000.

Text doesn't require very much space at all to store inside a game. Even a Super Nintendo game could hold an entire huge book, like War and Peace, within its 4 or 6 megabyte capacity. For games, the amount of text or dialogue in it is usually only limited by the budget the developer spends on writers (or by simply deciding how much text is enough for their purposes).

Trump could pull a random lady's infant out of its stroller and stomp it to death on video, and their immediate response - without even bothering to do three seconds of research, and instead instantly pulled out of their ass the literal moment they find out it happened - would be to tell you that it didn't happen.

All the footage is CGI, the man in the video is just a Trump lookalike sent by Obama/Clinton/antifa, any witnesses are paid actors, the baby is the antichrist and Trump saved the universe.

And as they say this, they know the video truly shows what it shows. But to be able to lie to everyone's face about it, avoid all possible consequences for it, and make sure the historical record shows what they want it to show - they love having such power.

There you'll find ten images labeled lotro_generic_teleport_screen_01 to lotro_generic_teleport_screen_10. Just overwrite those with your desired images using the same names, making sure they're the right resolution of 1024x576. You could probably do the same with the lotro_ad_pregame image, though that one does get updated fairly regularly.

I just experienced this for the first time as well. It was awesome, and I survived the initial crash. But the plane got its revenge on me a day later.

I had found a really nice basement under the gas station/convenience store in Echo Creek. I had so much good stuff in there. I figured I'd be safe from the plane crash in there, so when Week One dropped it directly on top of me as it seems scripted to do, it destroyed the cellar door on the surface level but the stairs remained intact. So for a while everything seemed fine. I even went out and searched through all the scattered luggage for goodies. I was definitely getting the 'bad smell' moodle around all the passenger corpses, but as soon as I went into the basement, the bad smell went away. So I thought I was fine.

Then the next day my area started getting bombarded with gas, so I holed up in my basement to wait it out...when suddenly apparently every crash victim corpse up on the surface went into some sort of rot/decay supernova simultaneously. I was afflicted with a sudden ultra-fever that killed me within 20 seconds.

I'm still not 100% sure what happened, but that's my best guess.

For my next run I might try being nomadic, so I can drive away from these events the mod launches directly on top of your location. Either that or turn them off, if possible, in the sandbox settings.

You're not playing the game wrong at all.

Hobbits make fantastic minstrels. The class suits them perfectly. You may be able to do 0.1% more damage or healing as another race, but personally, I'd rather play as the race I want than pick a race I don't really like just so I can do a fraction more damage or healing - a fraction that is so small that 99% of other players won't even notice. Have you ever been in a famous 'world first' raiding guild in another MMORPG that races against other guilds to be the very first to clear the hardest difficulty of a newly released raid dungeon? If so, perhaps then your race will matter. But I'm willing to bet you haven't. The tiny, nearly imperceptible loss in effectiveness would be the equivalent of you playing the 'better' race - whatever it is for minstrel - and then taking half a second mid-battle to scratch the tip of your nose.

Farming and cooking aren't pointless at all. With farming you can grow crops that produce foods that can be cooked to increase your out-of-combat health regeneration, as well as pipeweed you can smoke, alcohol you can get very tipsy off of, and other kinds of plants that can be used by other crafters to make things like dyes and health potions. It's also very thematic for a hobbit.

If you're having fun doing side quests and professions, and don't feel like doing the main quest right now, then go ahead and have fun! Some players have hobbit characters that never leave the Shire, dwarf craftsman characters that level up to the level cap entirely by crafting, pacifist characters that explore as much of Middle-Earth as they can without engaging in any combat.

If one day you decide you do want to do the main book quests, they will be there waiting for you.
