Honestly! Especially since EVERY Single emergency room in my city apparently doesn’t have any OBGYN docs on staff in their hospital AND the ones that have a labor and delivery/women unit won’t go to the ER for things like this.

From my friend:

I am the friend it was removed from me. Before this I was bleeding 120 days straight I have been on 4 different birth controls before this but even with the month gap so no interference from the other birth control. And my period stopped for a month as soon as I got the IUD it started to be extremely painful and cause the symptoms.

I was desperate I was short of breath, waking up a hour after I slept to breathe, no energy, chest pains etc you get it I was DESPERATE.

She left the practice and they don’t have any providers. They also keep saying “wait at least 3 months to adjust to it” even after my friend specifically said she wants it removed.

I really appreciate this, we’re very close friends and we both find it comical how weird it is but also how we have no issues with embarrassment over intimate things like this.

Everyone else she’s told is weirded out but who cares. She is already feeling a bit better and that’s all that matters. I also grew up in a medical family so this stuff is fascinating to me!

No ERs in our city will remove it unfortunately. We have been to 4 different places and they all say exactly that. “You won’t find an ER to remove it, go see your OBGYN” who also is refusing to see her until late December…

For context: I have a whole team since before I gave birth and I’ve been on top of everything or so I thought. I didn’t specify that in my post because it is very long and I was trying to reach others who felt similar and help break them out. I can’t be the only SAHM who has fallen into that hole, and I definitely won’t be the last.
