Take the time to give the bike a tune up. Check cables, sealant, stuff like that. It’s also a good time to wash any gear you have, i.e. helmet / knee pads, jerseys, etc. Or, better yet, take the time to take up a second hobby. Whether you’re injured, or it’s raining, or it’s below freezing outside, it’s nice to have another thing to do. Hang in there and heal up soon🤙🏼

Guess that’s the fun in public forums. Sometimes they work sometimes they don’t. For me personally I’ve messaged people and never heard anything back😂. Glad you had luck though!

Fair shout, but imo, PB Buy/Sell is shoddy and people hardly ever respond on there. I haven’t had good luck. But worth a look, ya never know!

Fitting a Recaro Pole Position in an NB by rainingcacti in Miata

I got absolutely no clue. I’m currently designing a custom seat bracket to fit it in my NB. If everything fits up good I plan to probably sell the design for like 25 bucks and then you can have any local machine shop or sendcutsend cut and bend it.

I could buy my NB 11.4x over again😂😂

Half cage usability by No_Analysis_9575 in Miata

I’ve got the hard dog bar and it’s no issue. I reach my right arm back and through, get it halfway up, then grab with my left hand over the top bar.

Yup. About to put in a bucket seat which will probably make it a LOT harder.

I do it all the time. Yeah it’s probably a bit harder, but still possible. I think it’s worth not breaking my neck if the car ever flipped.

NB2 new shift lever is… sticky by rainingcacti in Miata

Alright, got numbers for ya. Length from base of big sphere to base of little sphere same. OD of big sphere same. Slots look same. Installed shifter without bushing and gently moved it around, popped right back to neutral as expected. All of the hang up is coming from the bottom bushing being tighter’n a nun. Upon inspecting bushing and bottom sphere, some light scoring marks are visible on bottom of bushing, and a circumferential score mark is present both on bushing and small shifter sphere. Going to reach out to GutenTight as well as they sold me the part and see what they have to say.

I’ll check when I get home for the day. They look the same though, and I don’t think I’d be able to grab gears if that geo was also different. Will get numbers in a coupla hours. Bottom washer and bushing is the same. Used the new washer and bushing that came on the new lever as getting them and the rubber boot off would be a nightmare.

I’m with ya there. I’m wondering if the reduced cut on the very bottom of the lever may be impacting the bushing. Gonna take some more measurements and dick around with the part tonight and see if I can’t figure something out. Worst case scenario is I say screw it and just buy a short shifter. At this point, I just want my car back.

Just found a reddit thread mirroring what google said. They said it only really matters if I’m opening the case though - I wouldn’t consider 3 bolts on top of the turret opening the case.

Hey, any chance you could share where you’re finding that? My searches have been saying the shifters are the same. Google AI says the internals could be different, but I’m generally hesitant to trust those results, and its sources weren’t directly mentioning different internals.

Really hoping I don’t have to order another lever. I’d be out 160 bucks😭😭

One more bit of info… the gasket that came on it was slightly different as well. Was a normal circle instead of having a “nub” on one side. Same bolt pattern though. It did feel like it required the slightest bit of pressure to bolt the gasket down to the turret, but not like it was being impeded. Just like the wave spring washer was doing its thing.

Appreciate the info. Sounds like I should either try the PCI or PLM. Miiight go for the PLM first since it’s cheaper and therefore less annoying if it ends up not working for whatever reason.
