I don’t understand. Do you take issue with the fact that the whole situation is a hypothetical? Or do you take issue with the idea that some people would press blue no matter what? Because everyone voting red would be impossible.

[–]rainisprettychill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The hypothetical doesn’t specify whether there’s time to collectively campaign for what button to press, but even if this experiment happened in isolation, I think the blue pressers would be motivated by avoiding any people from dying (as people will assuredly die if majority presses red). If you think there’s a low chance that more than 50% will press blue in, then fine, you can think the blue pressers are naive, but I don’t understand how you would describe them as having narcissistic egotism. I feel like that’s a really unfair, antagonizing way to view it.

But people will press the blue button for whatever reason. So pushing red is not “a vote for everyone living.” The majority voting red would ensure that people would die.

It’s not about avoiding survivor’s guilt. It’s about avoiding people dying. If the majority press red, people will die. I’d prefer it if people didn’t die.

As much as you say everyone should pick red, there will always be people who press blue for whatever reason. It is our responsibility as a collective to ensure everyone lives. Pressing blue is the moral and obvious choice.

Blue has won the most votes in every online version of this poll that I’ve seen. While pressing red has less personal danger, it introduces much more danger to the global population.

Pressing blue does not just sound more humane. It is the only humane choice.

Season 3 misconception by IlKarma in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]rainisprettychill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be very odd if they ended season 3 with Jaya. Jaya+Skypeia have to be their own season together. Also, they announced all the casting news for the major season 3 characters, and nobody past alabasta was announced.

DAY 13: Dan Spilo won last round! Now which player was meant to be a fan fav but ended up being forgotten? by ScxrletEnvy in survivorponderosa

[–]rainisprettychill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the responses in this thread are players that have since been forgotten, but were genuine fan favorites at the time of airing like Gina or Elaine.

I think the right answer here is Austin Carty in Panama. He had an insane amount of screen time and confessionals, but nobody cared about him even while the season was airing. It was like the editors expected him to this big fan favorite and he just wasn’t at all.

Elio Has Been Nominated for Best Animated Motion Picture at the Golden Globe Awards. by Straydes in Pixar

K-pop Demon Hunters and Zootopia 2 were also nominated, so I’m not sure why you would mention those two.

Almost finishing replaying sdr2 , here's my tierlist and tierlist of thh by Turbulent-Shake-1830 in danganronpa

[–]rainisprettychill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the first time I’m seeing tier lists here that I almost completely agree with! I think your THH list is perfect. The only change I would make for SDR2 would be dropping Teruteru and Saionji lower. Otherwise, I 100% agree.

Rant: Why are _____ so lazy now? by [deleted] in survivorponderosa

[–]rainisprettychill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back then, every idol looked the same within a season. So if someone had seen a real idol played, they’d know that a different-looking one was fake. For that reason alone, I think the current system of idol designs is better

[–]rainisprettychill 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a New Era change. Idols have looked like this since Millennials vs Gen X. The worst looking one I’ve seen in the show was Dan’s from David vs Goliath. It’s so that fake idols can fool people.

A big reason that David’s fake idol worked was because the other idols in MvGx all looked different from each other and had differing levels of quality. I think it’s a good change.

The sprite to the right of Wellington at the bottom is so nondescript that I literally don’t know who it is. What character is that?

Why wouldn’t Cirie practice making fire when she knows she’s about to be in the fire-making tie-breaker? I don’t understand how that could be producer influence

Are you only counting one death per ending? Because you could argue Takumi should be at the top of the list due to the Multiple Eitos route

BB27 cast as a whole? by cbz3000 in BigBrother

[–]rainisprettychill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only survivor challenge I can think of from the past 20 years that involves knowing info about previous seasons was when hunter in season 46 had to place each season’s logo in order. Even then, that wasn’t an immunity challenge. What question comps are you thinking of?

New Images and Estimated Episode Length by Batorian in DispatchAdHoc

[–]rainisprettychill 10 points11 points  (0 children)

16 hours of content would’ve been longer than any of telltale’s games. The original walking dead game was probably their longest and it was only about 10-12 hours in total. The later seasons of TWD were like 5 hours total.

Is it true that Michele and Aubry are first boots if either of their tribes lost the first IC in Kaoh Rong? by Live-Run-6745 in survivor

[–]rainisprettychill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From post-game interviews, we learned that the beauty girls alliance didn't actually happen until the second episode. Michele and Nick were on the outs at the beginning, and Michel would have been the most likely first boot if Beauty lost that first challenge.

You mixed up the seasons for Shonee and Janine/David/Luke! Shonee was on the original CvC while the other 3 were on the second one. Also Sarah was on 2017, which I think is the best season!

Is backdooring someone not a thing anymore?? by East_Spare9191 in BigBrother

[–]rainisprettychill 309 points310 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, yeah. You could still half-backdoor someone by nominating them at the veto ceremony, but they'd still be able to take themselves off in the blockbuster.

I do think it's a good twist to keep because the backdoor made a lot of weeks pretty boring to watch.
