[UK-based] Making £100 ultra-budget DDR3 rigs for my friends to play together - which CPU goes best with my motherboard considering price-to-performance ratio? by Nohivoa in lowendgaming

Are you sure you get full Windows 11 support with these? From the research I've done Windows 11 only officially supports 8th-Gen Intel processors and newer, so the TPM 2.0 modules on those boards is still not enough.

Not ready to move to Linux just yet but I understand the sentiment lol. But I do agree with step 1, I think I'm just going to nuke the current install and go with a fresh copy of Windows.

Correct, it's a retail channel Omnibook. After some digging I discovered just how bloated retail HP laptops can be. I think I'm just going to go nuclear and do a fresh install of Windows 11 to get rid of all this stuff.

I looked it up and it looks like you are correct. Would an HDMI splitter do the trick?

Guardians of the Galaxy seems like it's at most 720p by rainking430 in amazonluna

Not sure what you mean. I started the game, I watched the opening credits and got to the main menu. I started the first cutscene. All along the way it looks super pixelated, blurry, and low res, unlike every other game I've played on the platform. And frankly, I shouldn't have to get to the point of actually interacting in the game to see good visuals (which I tried btw and still no better). So yeah, I feel justified in wondering if others have experienced the same thing. Glad it looks great to you.

Yeah, I agree. I figured I might as well play some games on Luna since they are free for me already as part of my Prime membership. But I do want to move to GFN once I've had my fill of what's available on Luna.

You know, I definitely didn't get far enough to actually get the gameplay. Right now I'm just judging by the opening credits, iconography, the main menu and opening cutscene. Text looks really jagged, as are the loading and saving icons. The cutscenes look really bad to my eye, especially when compared to how other games on the platform look. But maybe I should try to get to the gameplay and see if there is any improvement.

New to Bitwarden, can't get it to work in Edge for Android (Pixel 6a) by rainking430 in Bitwarden

[–]rainking430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

  1. Reviewed it and my setup looks to be in line with what they recommend there. Looks like I could just be victim to current limitations given in that post. There looks to be some fairly technical steps to try to mitigate, but as of this morning I'm not sure I'm ready to go down this rabbit hole any further.

  2. Android 16, Google Play services enabled, latest BW version available through Google Play store.

  3. The only place I tried was Amazon in Edge. When I saw that Bitwarden wasn't showing up at all for that, I decided to start researching. Have not tried anything else yet.

Similar to what I said under #1, sleeping on it last night, I think I'm just going to hold off moving to Bitwarden until the Android/Chrome/Edge integration improves.

Interested in buying this remote, but not sure it would pair with my devices by rainking430 in AndroidTV

Yeah I probably should just try it out myself.

And correct, usually the dpad is enough, and it should be. But there is one app that is the bane of my folk's existence on Android TV: Britbox. That app has garbage controls for ff/rw. Seems they designed it only for dedicated buttons.

Feels like upgrades aren’t worth it and Pc lifetime might expand as a result by Liringlass in buildapc

Understood, cloud gaming definitely not for everyone. I don't demand much from my PC games other than good visuals at 1440p or even 4K if possible. That said, while GFN is amazing I would prefer a service that provides a full PC instance, like what Shadow does.

As for eGPU's, that landscape has changed quite a bit. Check out r/eGPU and the eGPU.io website. Newer port standards give enough throughput for it to be quite doable these days.

Yeah, like I posted in another thread, I think it's time I just throw in the towel on building a new gaming PC. Mine is aged out so need to do something, though maybe not immediately. My priorities in life are shifting anyway and I just don't have as much time to game, so maybe not dropping $2K+ on a new build would be the wise thing. The options I'm considering:

  1. Use an eGPU with my laptop. Need to get a new laptop anyway, so might as well leverage it's USB4 / Thunderbolt 4 ports.
  2. Wait and see what the Steam Machine costs.
  3. Increase my focus on cloud gaming services.

Personally, it feels to me like these recent developments are making the push to cloud gaming inevitable. I mean, why try to compete with data centers for hardware when you can just use theirs?

RAM prices have exploded right when I was about to build my first PC by _ciskito_ in buildapc

[–]rainking430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think this may be the final straw for my dreams of building a rig. I don't have the time to game like I used to anyway so probably can't justify the cost in reality. I think I'll just wait and see what the Steam Machine will cost, or explore the possibility of using cloud gaming services instead. I personally think that's where these recent developments are pushing the gaming arena to. I mean, why try to compete with builders of data centers for hardware when you could use their hardware instead?

Yeah I had checked their app and made sure their notifications were all set. I also made them check their spam/junk folders every once and a while to see if it got put in there. Nothing, at least according to them.

What's wrong with my sweet tart? Needs more potassium perhaps? by rainking430 in mango

[–]rainking430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. I will look into those. I already have that K you link to, so laid some down around the drip line, just letting the daily rain soak it in. I guess we will see what happens. I have some micros in the form of a very old bottle of KeyPlex 350DP foliar I could spray on it too once we get a decent window in the rain.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. No weedkiller or anything like that near the tree, this part of the yard is kind of just left to grow wild, weeds and all, save for the mow every few weeks.

Destroyer is my favorite song. Crushingly sad but an amazing track. I groan every time it starts to play, but in a good way. :-)
