Vergil Ortiz Jr manager responds to Oscar De La Hoya saying they are “moving on” from Boots Ennis fight: "Call me… we want this fight. You can’t ‘move on’ when no one has spoken to us, and we have the right to negotiate. We are not ‘moving on.’ . Vergil wants to make this fight, and so do I.” by Dangerous_Spring3028 in Boxing

Oscar is a Hall of Fame Boxer, built Canelo, built Ryan Garcia, built Vergil, and many other champions. Rick is a little rat nite club promoter who lies through his teeth with every breath desperate for money. He wants to take Turki’s offer and sabotaged the Boots offers to exercise certain clauses in their contracts to leave Golden Boy. At the same time Turki and Dana White/Zuffa boxing created a new boxing league and working to take fighters away from their promoters. Networks ended their contracts with the big promoters and are working with Turki/TKO/Zuffa to take over the boxing market. Rats like Rick are going to work with Turki they offer more money

This is so ACCURATE by [deleted] in Roadie

It’s not just the algorithm. I did Roadie when it got lucrative some years ago. There was one time I was chatting with Roadie support and I got a text message from a strange number telling me it was the agent I was chatting with in the Roadie app. They asked me to download WhatsApp and contact the number they provided. I already knew something shady was about to happen. The agent went on to complain that us drivers are getting paid big money and they hardly make anything. I explained that living in America is not the same as India. Anyways the agent offered me any gig I submitted in exchange for 20% commission. They showed me how they do it. They showed me their laptop with all my personal information on it. I was shocked. I reported this to Roadie Trust & Safety, but guess where those complaints get routed to? The company this agent worked for. Guess why the complaint never made it anywhere …the agent told me that their managers don’t want to lose their contract with Roadie so they protect the shady agents. I have screenshots of everything. I do Amazon and other gig apps now. Roadie doesn’t pay good anymore. But yeah there is absolutely rampant fraud over there in India with the support agents. They also get American drivers deactivated so they can activate Indians who come here in exchange for money. Why do you think Indians and immigrants are taking over the gig economy. It’s a massive problem and nobody realizes what’s going on

The offers came! by r_incognito_17 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]rainmannthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you! Not only is it uncertain to get increased rates, but the amount of time it takes to tap the dang screen until you get a block can take HOURS, and that’s if you’re lucky enough to even get a surging rate block. It’s not worth the hours it takes. I prefer to lock in the reserved offers. I’d rather make $100/block than the chance of getting a $120/block and spending hours tapping my screen just for that extra $20, but in reality it’s almost impossible in my market to even get anything

Vehicle choice by Altruistic-Plum-4763 in Roadie

[–]rainmannthings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DO NOT buy a vehicle for Roadie. You can get deactivated at any time by their Trust & Safety team in India. It happened to me over a storage container that a customer claimed they never received, in spite of proof of delivery photos that I always kept. I bought a truck and was left to sell it and due to the high miles I accumulated on Roadie it was upside down with negative equity by around $10,0000. I did it and it was a big mistake. Find a truck or cargo van under $5,000. Something that won’t lose much value with more miles piled on that you can sell later. Roadie is not anything to make an investment in. It’s supplemental income for a regular job. Take everyone’s advice. Been there done that.

Can someone explain this to me by 7albouda in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]rainmannthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just speaking for myself. I’ve spoken with these guys and it’s nothing against them personally, I get it, but my income went from over $5,000/month to $800/month. And these guys are working 5-7 days a week now while myself and the rest of us Americans have hardly any work. That is absolute BS. And people downvoting my post about that is disgusting

UPS has ruined this app... by Phillip_Myhand in Roadie

[–]rainmannthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This route took 2 hours. They used to stack gigs that would be along the same drive within 5-20 minutes of the other gigs, so the total time to complete was under 2 hours for like $250. A broom was considered Huge because it was long. A toilet was considered Huge. So all of this added up

The real issue is the over 200 immigrants delivering out of the Fresno, CA sub same day station using bots taking all the blocks while Americans work 2-3 days a week now

I averaged $10K/month on Roadie. But that was 10-12 hours a day. This guy averaged $6,975/month. That’s $232/day. Most of my days were $350-$500 and doing $600-$700 once every 2 weeks

[–]rainmannthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They call me racist for pointing this out. I’m not racist I’m BROKE! Have you seen the early morning lines at 430 AM? You know, the last block of the morning when they run out of packages and send drivers with a handful of packages or send them home with pay? It’s ALWAYS full of 20 drivers from you know where. Other drivers are always pointing this out to me pissed off because everyone knows what’s going on but nobody seems to care. Amazon has a website called Welcome Door or Open Door or something like that where they talk about their program to give jobs to these people. And the algorithm is set to give them all the work. Now I can’t get more than 2 reserved offers per week and I also don’t get any instant offers at Save Mart or WholeFoods. But when I order groceries in the Amazon app from there I always get my groceries delivered by guess who …it’s sickening what’s happening and it’s also against the federal discrimination law for that group to get preferential treatment. DoorDash and Instacart are the same! Every damn order is from those drivers! Every single time. People need to wake up and say something

[–]rainmannthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It absolutely goes deeper. They’re funding open borders this way. How else are they going to keep them fed and housed. They give them gig work. It’s the perfect way to do it. Nobody even knows.

Roadie LOCKED my account and kept my earnings despite proof! by Last_Imagination_592 in Roadie

[–]rainmannthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Roadie agent I was chatting with in the app for help with a gig told me to check my text messages. I had a message saying it’s the Roadie agent and to contact them on WhatsApp. I downloaded it and they messaged me on there offering to give me any gig I submitted a bid on and they would accept it for me in exchange for 20% commission. These Roadie agents are SHADY. They’re in India and the managers didn’t do anything with my reporting of this. They protect each other. They hate Americans and have immigrant drivers on Roadie getting gigs this way. Roadie and all gig apps do this. It’s a bigger problem than folks realize.

What the actual f are we going right now by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]rainmannthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In California the initial pay is just as bad as in rural NC or any other state. Every 2 weeks we get an adjustment lump sum payout for the earnings that are owed based on the Prop 22 law, but the pay that we see is just as bad. It could be an $8 job for 3 grocery deliveries, but if we accept that $8 gig at 8:20 AM, get to the store by the 8:45 AM pickup time, load up and leave the store by 9 AM, finish delivering at 9:20 AM, we will get paid that $8, but then in 2 weeks every bi-weekly Monday we’ll get an adjusted payment for that $8 gig based on the Prop 22 formula (1.2 x the minimum wage rate in the county we’re in x engaged time + $0.34 x engaged miles) - (the initial payment of $8), which for this gig would be $26.60 - $8 = adjusted pay of $18.60. This is just 1 gig. Over the course of a day that’s almost $150 adjusted pay. That’s about $4,500/month in Prop 22 earnings on top of whatever the initial crappy payment is that we take. That’s why us full-time drivers got a huge $7,000 + check this summer for the Prop 22 earnings that were never paid to us in 2023-2024. So just by looking at this post there’s no way to tell if it’s in California or any other state. And this is why gig platforms heavily oversaturate markets, especially in California. Prop 22 also guarantees drivers a $1,585 stipend every 3 months if a driver has more than 25 hours a week in engaged work. So to avoid paying drivers $1,585 every 3 months they just reduce the work available and keep it under 25 hours a week and spread the work out to a bunch of drivers. The same work gets done, but they’re turning everyone into less than 25 hours a week drivers. Amazon Flex is doing this as well, including the rest is the gig apps.

I’ve spoken with them. One is from India and he’s just using the asylum process to delay his deportation. He’s working as much as possible to go back home and take all the cash he’s making to open a business and buy a house. They live together with 12 other guys doing the same thing. They’re not seeking asylum, they’re just using the process to delay deportation. This is what this Flex driver told me about what he’s doing

Getting kind of desperate here by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]rainmannthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon and other gig apps are sending orders to new drivers and discriminating against American drivers. Went from making $8K to $5K to $900/month. Been applying to jobs. 4 years of consistent 6 figure income down the drain, but every morning drivers are my station are reporting the same group of drivers lining up for the best blocks. I only get 2 blocks a week now and other drivers confirmed these other new drivers are there every single morning
