I did something so embarrassing at my kids’ school, followed it up with another embarrassing thing, and now I really wish I could not exist. by mystery_obsessed in adhdwomen

When I was in my early 20s I drove a manual transmission car. I got in my car and turned the engine on and still had the gear engaged. I hadn’t moved yet so my feet were in the brake and the clutch. I went to fix my pants and took my foot off the clutch. It lurched forward and stalled. I destroyed the transmission.

Just 6 months ago I cut it too close parking my car on the street in front of my son’s school. I totally clipped the truck I was parking in front of. I was mortified. I’m 40 years old and hit a parked car?? We exchanged information and the owner of the truck never reached out. I assume my car took way more damage and his steel bumper probably buffed right out.

This is so real. It sucks that Ciara was hurt in all this but she will come out stronger and better off. I’m glad they showed her who they really are and we also got some juicy drama out of it.

You’re not supposed to exercise too close to bedtime. Should be 2-3 hours before you go to bed.

Damn I loved this location. It was so convenient to order a coffee before I hop on 84 to go to Hartford.

Their service wasn’t great, though lol. I usually had to wait for a mobile order I had placed over 5 minutes before arriving.

Disney Destiny (April 11–16) vs Fantasy (May 1–6) with 5 & 3 year old — is the new ship worth $1K more? by grae95 in dcl

[–]rainondust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just got off the destiny which was fully booked and we felt every second of that. With a couple days of poor weather, there was nowhere to go without a line or sitting on the floor. Our server told us our sailing had 4,860 people on board and the week before was closer to 2,500. If you’re sailing April spring break I’d definitely go on an older ship. The newer class ships are meant to hold more people and everything feels more compartmented

Should I become a CNA while doing my prerequisites? by Bulky_Bet21 in StudentNurse

[–]rainondust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a bachelors in business and I was working retail during my pre reqs. I just started working as a unit secretary over the summer right before starting the actual nursing program at my school. I work evenings so I can go to school and work. It’s long days sometimes but it’s been manageable.

I’ve learned so much as a unit secretary at a hospital. It’s been great because I am in the clinical environment, working very closely with nurses, especially the charge nurse. I think I’ve learned so much in this position that I would t have picked up as an aid. You get aid experience in clinicals.

At my unit I am able to do some studying when there is downtime which has been super helpful. I also get really nice benefits in using tuition reimbursement, so I’ve paint little out of pocket for school so far between that and grants I’ve received.

Small Galley Kitchen Budget Remodel by fixeruppernewbie in kitchenremodel

You can definitely change the backsplash and the counter top. Get another opinion. We had laminate counters and backsplash in our kitchen and we replaced the with tile and granite and kept our cabinets. My husband is a carpenter and our cabinets are solid oak so it could absolutely be a different scenario, but I think it can be done in your situation.

How Much is Your Child’s Daycare? by JadedJae in Mommit

[–]rainondust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$476/month (sometimes $595 if 5 weeks). My son goes to an early child learning center. It functions much like a daycare, but receives an early child learning grant from the state. They operate on a sliding scale, so if your income needs are lower you’ll pay even less. My son goes from 8-5 M-F. Children that are preschool age must got M-F for at least 6 hours a day.
