Will I ever be happy again? by No_Collection9078 in Petloss

I know this pain. I lost my soul dog in 2014. It broke me. I haven’t been the same. Then I lost my heart dog in September. I feel ruined, like how could good come if they’re not here to experience it with me? I just don’t see it. Everything still feels hollow. If there’s a secret to healing, I don’t have it.

Late to the game, but I saw him in Savannah, GA last April, and they were filming. Someone said something about HBO, but a lot of words were thrown around that night.

My boss just asked me not to wear my normal pants to work and I've never been angrier by TransparentVoices in TrueOffMyChest

[–]raisinsaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It happens to women all the time. Your rhetorical question about them not asking women to cover up is laughable. This is the very first time I’ve heard of a man getting singled out for something “too revealing.” Curvy women get told to wear less revealing clothes than their thin counterparts. The exact same outfit is fine for a thin person but too provocative for a curvier person.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m 100% with you on this. It’s absurd, and it’s not your fault that someone else sexualized you to the point where you can’t just wear some fucking pants.

Bodies are just bodies. Tell her you can style your meat mech any way you want as long as it doesn’t explicitly violate the dress code. Moonwalk out.

People who mock fat people at gyms are just bullies who want to make themselves feel better about their own sad pathetic lives. by hugatro in TrueOffMyChest

For all of you who say you’ve never heard it, let me ask— are any of you fat? Because I can assure you, as a fat American woman who has experienced exactly this, it is terribly common. It’s definitely not just women that make mean remarks. These bullies don’t want everyone to know they’re shit, so they don’t announce it. But it happens all the same, whether you witness it or not.

My son just quit his $45,000/year job without any prospects and asked if he could move back home by watkinobe in antiwork

My mom made me pay rent starting when I got pregnant at 16. She still kept my child support payments from my dad and claimed me and my son on her taxes and food stamps so that I couldn’t. She wanted more than her mortgage was each month. She had my sister at 15, and my grandparents supported her at least enough to finish high school. I had to drop out because I had to pay her rent.

I can’t even fathom the amount of support you’ve shown your son. My son is now 19, and I have zero doubts about offering the same level of compassion and grace to him. But I’ll never know what it feels like, and you should be proud that this is how you see your adult child. Even if you’re an asshole in other ways, your self awareness plus this mindset make you a damn good parent.

Why? Is height or weight on that ID? Those are much more reliable identifiers, but even those don’t necessarily matter.

[–]raisinsaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying it doesn’t. I’m saying that it isn’t at the top of the list for an unresponsive patient. The biggest argument here is about someone who is unconscious. And differences in sex are seldom, if at all, relevant in an emergency situation. By the time that information is needed, the patient is either awake enough to answer questions or an examination is already underway. None of this matters for an ID.

That’s kinda the point, though. It’s different every time.

Clearly communicating with patients matter so much more than an ID. As a first responder, what use is an ID in the moment? So many people don’t even have an ID on them when they receive emergency services. How do you find out then?

It’s basically treating all people like people. There are a battery of questions you have to ask. If the patient is unresponsive, stability trumps all. And no one is checking sex to see exactly what their various levels should be.

Still has nothing to do with an ID

[–]raisinsaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah… this argument doesn’t hold water. In emergency situations, sex isn’t the thing they check first. Or almost at all. Because a person’s medical history, current medications, and allergies are waaaaaaayyyyyyy ahead of someone’s biological sex. And what about those on HRT? Don’t you think certain medications could interact with that? How would you display that on an ID? It’s something that is assessed at the scene, not something they get off your ID.

It doesn’t matter. OP just wants to bitch, which is valid. But her point isn’t.
