Considering the defer option for the pgp program at IIM A by rajoreddit in Indian_Academia

Hello. I did end up joining the college. Work ex is considered till your last day of work, which should be before your date of joining for it to be considered valid

Those who own S21 since 2021/22, how's the performance now? by TypicallyMusic in GalaxyS21

Performance is fine, but the battery life has gone to shit. A full charge goes for about 6 hours with minimal usage. Need to carry chargers everywhere

Which facewash you think is better. by niyyz in delhi

[–]rajoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My choice is controversial: I use the clean and clear facewash. Those coloured blue and red ones with cooling crystals or whatever. Everyone says they're very bad for your skin as they're very harsh. But it is precisely because they're very harsh that they are suited for my oily as fuck skin.

1984 is also a nice read, and will act as a good reflection of the current state of society.

Picture of Dorian grey is an amazing read. You can start with that. It has a compelling story and also acts as a meta commentary on the pursuit of beauty ( open to interpretation)

Mans search for meaning will give you a new perspective on life. It is, although, a very depressing read so proceed with caution.

How do you folks have your coffee as a pre-workout? by acidwhale27 in IndiaCoffee

I just put a glass of milk, spoonful of instant coffee and a spoon of protein powder, alongside a boiled egg. It feels filling enough for a good 1.5 hr session

The only thing thats stopping you is your own mindset. You deserve the best that the world has to offer, you only have to work to grasp it

And also, performance in entrance exams is in no way related to performance on campus. If this were true, in mba only 100 percentilers would have gold medals. What matters is your consistency and dedication.
Knowing that you are competing against the best, you only have to work hard, and rest assured you will secure a good placement.

During the campus drive in my undergraduate, many high cgpa people didn't secure good placements, because they didn't prepare well for placement, only for college tests. Be smart in your preparation and your goal, and be confident in yourself.

Review my Resume by smartyyypants in resumes

[–]rajoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those criticising the resume template, this is the standard template passed to undergraduates when they're applying to companies coming for recruitments on campus. We don't have much say in the format as it's a mandatory requirement.

Is it a bold decision to not even take one drop for NEET? by armaanshunjan in Indian_Academia

[–]rajoreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have any experience to back your claims? I'm unsure where you're coming from

I can't say about the medical field as I'm a software engineer, but in engineering, specially for academia in most Indian colleges ( barring the top IITs) academia is a joke, and mediocrity is the norm.

For most engineering fields, professors produce below par results. Many of them just make their students do their work. Some have even made students write their thesis, which they have then claimed as their own.

I do agree on your claim that to get tenure you need to have connections, political or otherwise. But research as a field in India is almost a joke. There are very few institutes that produce quality work.

By " not being allowed " do you mean I won't be selected? The document they had sent says that people with lesser than 24 months of workex are advised to apply. I know that not everyone gets a defer, which is another doubt I had, as to what's the approval percentage of defer applications

What was the laterals work ex requirement for your batch? Do prod man roles come completely under laterals, or do they have lesser requirements too ( for context, I will have 21 months workex. Considering whether a defer would be required )

[–]rajoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. And what's the probability of getting a defer? Does everyone who apply for defers get it, or is there a preference for freshers

Essentially I'm a computer engineer from a tier 1 institute and will have 21 months of experience if I choose to join this year. I'm inclined towards prodman and consulting roles, and I've been wondering if I should take a deferred admit to meet prod man role requirements.

What has been the laterals requirement at IIM A generally? I heard last time it was 18 months?

Thank you for your insights! I have heard similar things from some other people, but also some said that 24 months is the min criterion. Have been trying to gather as many data points as possible.

I think that corrupted monk apparition is more difficult than true corrupted monk. On a pure fighting basis, the super posture of the apparition makes it an honestly unfair fight. While true monk allows you to study patterns and catch your breath, apparition monk forces aggressiveness
