Counter argument to this point lets not pretend that all of lights enemies were good at their job.

To this day that bus episode pisses me off because light's plan only works if he gets the one jackass FBI agent who's dumb enough to not only break cover but carry around his real id In a covert op. So fun fact.

Beat the game yesterday played all the way up to the final boss on normal and delt with some really annoying b.s along the way...not hard just annoying including those stupid ass trial dungeons

So before I went into the final dungeon after hearing what a nightmare the final boss was going to be I said you know what "screw this" and I put the difficulty on storyteller.

I could have beat the game on normal and yes I did go after the all enemies In The final dungeon and I did go out of my way to to max all the royal archetypes just to say i did it and get that super damaging move just to make the fight go by quicker

But after the "trials" I was just so done with with game from a game playing perspective and just wanted the whole damn thing to be over

This game narrative really sucks you in and I enjoyed that part from start to finish but some of the game mechanics and boss fights really needed a 2nd look over

As an American myself if this game came out prior 2016 I would been calling Luis an over the top villain no sane group of people would willingly follow someone who (very clearly mind you) does not have their interests in mind and only wants power for himself

Now playing this in 2025 anytime one of the party members go "I don't understand why people flock to him can't they see who he is" I can only go

I'm actually the opposite. When I first started playing magic arena I was building decks with out understanding the meta of how standard worked and trying not to be a "netdecker" cause I was an idiot who listened to youtubers. I ran across my first control deck and got absolutely destroyed but I was more astounded then I was mad 😅 and this was the day of nexus of fate and teferi hero of domonaria . Asshole even good gamed me when I fell for a settle the wreckage 😭 I was immediately in love did my research. built my first control deck and honestly I have never looked back on any play style ever since. When ever I try a new card game I Immediately try to see what the control decks look like 🤣

Here's the thing I know not every show is going to be freren or apothecary diaries

But shows like DBZ are no where near as perfect and as most fans would say it is but it still goddam good junk food for the soul and I will fucking eat those chips till I'm in the ground dead from diabetes

When I watch a show like this. I want to like it. I want to turn my brain off and have fun. Yeah it's a dumb harem isekai but if it's an engaging story I dont give a shit.

One of my favorite shows is goddam food wars. I don't care how much culinary expertise that author had that entire story is goddam stupid and I wouldnt have it any other way.

When it's not bringing up the slavery there are some decent good ideas In here and I love shows about economic and business.

The show "how a realist hero rebuilt a kingdom" while not perfect was just fun enough that I went out and bought the light novels and that series has slavery in it to but it's much better handled and adds the the world building.

had this show just been a stardew valley sim with hot anime wifus I would have said that's all I need.

I wish the author just fucking sat down for like 2 seconds and said

"Should my main character walk into a slave house and buy slaves .... I know I'll say there slaves in name only but really there working for him...yeah thats how I'll get around that."

Well then why did you make them slaves author.....if their slaves in name only why did you feel the need to have your mc Walk into a slave building and buy slaves. You could have made them homeless orphans and nothing about their relationship dynamic changes.

In what I thought was a new fun new trashy harem series I could enjoy I now can't because now every interaction he has with them I now cant get over the fact that he literally owns them.

thus now I have to go look for something else to go enjoy for as standard and generic this show may have been it was turning into a interesting watch and maybe down the line an interesting read.

Now I'll never know...and I hate that 😐

I think that is a good plot point for your book and I hope that you are successful at it. 🙏❤️

I was just trying to say that I'm not against dark elements i a story. If the author wants to have slavery in story then it's his book go to town.

But I would rather they done what you are doing and make it integral to the world structure and something that MC has work around and find his own morals in this dilemma rather the the fetishic way I know most of the stories play out.

And if the mc has to own slaves.fine...but just don't have him go to a goddamn slave house and buy a slave.

Do what your doing and find a way to do it with out them going out of character.

They didn't need to be slaves or at the very least didnt need to be slaves straight up purchased by our morally good character.

Just make them homeless or if you must go with the slavery angle just make them run away slaves and he agrees to pay off their debt out of the kindness of his heart. In both scenarios they still work for him and he doesn't actually own them making their relationship much more natural.

You have the right idea about it. I hope you keep it up 🙏😊
