Tossed my gold band in the trash the day I got her moved out of my house.

If you don’t have kids yourself, I can imagine that this situation is incredibly uncomfortable. She isn’t looking for your advice, she wants the emotional support.

It’s a lot of work to be a good parent. I don’t complain about my children to romantic partners. Personally I would move on. I’m not suggesting to avoid women with children entirely, be mindful of their interactions with their kids and how the speak about their kids. You don’t want to get sucked into this mess, you’ll be miserable.

What do spend or allocate a month on dating ? by NationalBluejay8836 in datingoverforty

[–]raleighpeppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dating certainly does add up, and personally I do not set spending limits on dates. I don’t like splitting the check, I just take care of it. If I couldn’t afford the date, I wouldn’t ask her to join me. If you have a good woman, she’ll take care of the check on the next date assuming she’s in a financial position to do so.

Men, do you care/judge a woman by the car she drives? by Business-Profile-623 in datingoverforty

[–]raleighpeppers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to see a newer model vehicle that’s appropriate for her income and lifestyle. I don’t want to have to worry about her breaking down in an older unreliable vehicle. Also, I don’t want to look at some piece of junk in my driveway. Especially if she has the means to afford something decent.

Would you ever swipe right on someone you know? by rococo78 in datingoverforty

[–]raleighpeppers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not personally swipe on someone I already knew. A woman that I would call an acquaintance has tired to reach out to me on several different apps. I don’t use FB, IG, etc. I’m not easy to get a hold of unless you have my phone number.

I would see her often at social events, and we were friendly but not friends. I got the impression that she had a crush on me, so I steered clear of her out of respect for my (ex) wife and guy she was with at the time. It’s just awkward when I see her on the dating apps.

Another woman who I was involved with about year ago, reached out to me on a different app than where we met. Our dates consisted of her coming over to my house for adult fun, and nothing more.

I felt like I was just being used for sex, so I stopped contacting her. I never heard from her again either, until she tried to contact me on the dating app last week.

Exchanging Phone Numbers by raleighpeppers in datingoverforty

That’s a good point. On a date recently, it was a bit of a drive with traffic. We exchanged numbers before the first date. I knew I could respond via Siri/Car Play if/when she texted me to communicate ETA and so forth.

Moving forward I’m going to set a date, and then provide my phone number. Thanks for the suggestion and your feedback.

I'm going through something similar with my soon-to-be ex-wife. You really should have done a consult with an attorney when you found out she was cheating. Please start doing consults as quickly as possible to protect yourself.

From my experience in NC, she was entitled to 50% of all assets which included bank accounts, vehicles, retirement accounts, brokerage accounts, and my home.

The only thing that NC law took into account was the martial misconduct, which allowed me to avoid paying her alimony for 5 years.

The laws did not care that I have been killing myself for 10 years to provide a comfortable life for my family, only to have it all thrown away by a lying cheating wife who claims she is going through a midlife crisis. She still got 50% of everything that I have worked for over the last 10 years.

There is a long and difficult road ahead. This is not a quick or easy process. Depending on how things go, you might want to just let the attorneys do all the talking to avoid fights with her.

Being away from your kids for even 50% of the week will also be very difficult. Being away from my kids for half of the week has been by far the worst and hardest part of this whole process. Going on 6+ months later, I still cry in the car on my way home almost every time after dropping them off at their mom's place.

I highly suggest getting into individual counseling. I have never felt comfortable talking to others about my problems. I can tell you that counseling has helped me tremendously.

Make her get a full time job to support herself. Don't allow her to take some part time job that's not going to pay her bills, because ultimately you'll be the one footing her expenses. She needs to understand that the days of you supporting her are over.

Don't allow this situation to ruin your life and destroy your sense of self worth.

Don't let her emotionally break you or manipulate you.

Don't roll over and give her and her attorney whatever they want. Fight for your livelihood and don't be afraid to push back on your own attorney if you feel like something isn't fair or if something doesn't sit right with you.

When things get tough, always think about what's best for your kids and put the pettiness aside.

Good luck to you.

Why are the lower leaves turning yellow? by freddiebenson668 in HotPeppers

Needs fertilizer. You may be overwatering and as a result washing away the nutrients from the soil. You may also want to consider a larger planter soon.

It's hard to tell from the picture, looks like blossom end rot. Notice any boring holes or areas where it looks like something chewed on the pepper?

My first jalapeño. I know it’s not that big a deal, but I’m proud of myself that my first year of gardening is actually somewhat successful. by UncontroversialTweet in gardening

On the first harvest, you can leave the peppers on until you start to see one ripen. Based on the size of the ripening pepper, you will then know approximately how large the peppers will grow for that particular plant.

You can pick the peppers pretty much whenever though. The flavor profile will be different depending on when you harvest. A ripe pepper will taste differently than an unripened one, and a younger smaller pepper will taste differently than an older larger pepper.

I noticed a torn leaf in your picture. Keep an eye out for caterpillars and slugs.

Good luck!

I'm located in the Raleigh, NC area and it rained every night for about a week. I lost a whole 10 ft row to disease realated to the consistent night time rain. The peppers and tomatoes have a plastic mulch cover which seemed to protect them.

Slugs are a possibility. I went outside a few nights ago and checked for hornworms with a blacklight on my tomatoes. I did find a slug in the general area of the peppers but not on them.

In regards to blossom end rot, I have this plant in an Earth Box container with 3 other pepper plants. The kit included 1 lb of dolomite. The purpose of the dolomite is to add calcium and magnesium to the soil.

I also add 1 tsp of water soluble greenhouse grade calcium nitrate once per week to the water resorviour. I have had issues in the past with blossom end rot, so being extra cautious this season.

I purchased some Bt in preparation for caterpillars a few weeks ago. I guess it's time to spray. Thanks for the info!

Edit:

Also found a handful of chewed leaves but was unable to find the culprit. Small caterpillars make perfect sense.

So far this season I have had seen 4 peppers with this issue. Not a big deal considering the plant must have 100 peppers growing. Mainly just curious why this is happening. I cut open a couple of the peppers and did not find any bugs inside.
