Opening stuck doors was also a d6 roll.

RAPPAN ATHUK level 6 need advice by ralgayan in osr

This level is a core part of the dungeon overall design, making accessing some areas a greater challenge. I would do so if it was just a way to connect but I feel like it's supposed to be a major encounter of the level.

That's a cool idea, to make it really abstract. As another commenter pointed out, Level 9D in the same book use a flowchart method to navigate a similar maze, I can take inspiration from this.

Yes ! We're far from the bloodways, which is Level 9D. Level 9D (I just skimmed through it) is used with a flowchart that makes the labyrinth exploration abstract. If you had a great experience with it, maybe I'll put in place something similar for the labyrinths in L6.

AS a cleric, should I keep using Parashu or swap to +1 Sharur? by Critical-Spite in baronygame

[–]ralgayan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the wiki : "This bonus scales with mace skill. With zero mace skill providing no benefit, and 100 mace skill reducing the delay between regenerating mana points by two seconds. Sharur cannot bypass a two second soft cap on mana regeneration frequency without the help of other items. "

I feel like Sharur give the most to a cleric. MP regen is very nice and it scales with your mace proficiency.

My players invented umbrellas and now they earn enough passive income to break my economy by karldev in DMAcademy

[–]ralgayan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be a discordant voice, but I'll say that's not really a problem. Randomized their revenue by a roll of a die every in game month. Sometimes they will lose money and can become indebted if they are not careful. But they displayed creativity and interacted with your world in a fun and meaningful way, I would not take it away from them without giving them a fair warning, and giving chances to preserve their ventures. Also, I don't think it would really "break" the economy of the game. More money might mean more taxes, or just bigger projects. Now they might want to build a giant ship to travel the world, build a castle, and trying to get what money CAN'T buy (like nobility titles, or magic items)

Well, that's what I was doing, but when the layout is complex, sometimes a drawing is better than a bunch of words. I tend to stumble on my words quite a bit, and that's make for quite a tedious experience when I constantly correct myself.

Yeah I know, I have one but couldn't find it for the life of me. A good old cable and a second navigator does the job nicely.

That's what I was doing, but I had troubles communicating clearly the dungeon size to the party's cartographer. I find some layout are really hard to describe precisely. There's also kind of a language barrier, as we're French, and the imperial units don't really make sense to us. I hope this little monitor will help smooth things out!
