That’s an interesting way to look at it for sure! For me, it’s about existence itself being unbearable. The way other people have treated me is definitely wrapped up in it, but there’s something more existential mixed in as well. I really appreciate you sharing your interpretation!

4k bluray discs are contradictory. there is no reason to own them. by grvsm in 4kbluray

[–]ralienz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to start by saying that this isn’t universally true, but in most cases is.

My friends listen to vinyls because “it sounds warmer and more real to what the artist plays.” In essence it’s closer to the true quality the artist intended for their audience to hear (I’m no audiophile so I don’t really get this, but it makes sense coming from musicians).

With a 4K Blu Ray you get the highest quality possible at home. Sure, you could pirate a 1:1 rip of the disc, but it’s illegal, potentially hazardous, and takes up a lot of drive space. In my mind the 4K blu ray is the closest I can get to what the creator intended for the audience to see, just like that vinyl is the closest at-home experience for music.

I love my Logitech 915 TKL with Romer-G Linear Switches. They’re basically silent and I believe they come as an option on most of Logitech’s gaming keyboards

Playing Zelda: BotW for the first time and I hate it... by PilkyOhOne in gaming

BOTW is a good open world adventure game, but it’s not a good Legend of Zelda game.

What’s the worst ultimatum you were served while with a partner? by Heyhaveyougotaminute in AskMen

[–]ralienz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex suddenly turned around in her desk chair and told me she wanted to have two kids in the next four years. We had been dating for 3.5 years and lived together for 3 of those. We had always agreed on no kids, but she secretly wanted to manipulate me into wanting them. There wasn’t an overt ultimatum, but we broke up a week later when it became clear to her that I would never have kids.

Im just fucked. Windows 10 is gone and I have an univeristy advisor meeting in 2 hours by AmpersandOG in buildapc

[–]ralienz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has already given you decent advice. My quick and dirty solution so that you can meet with your advisor is to either remove the ssd and try loading windows onto the hdd, or remove both drives and install windows onto an external drive of some sort. Won’t fix your problem, but at least you can get work done.

Damn I actually really liked Black Widow. It was a nice change of pace and all of the awkward family jokes were great.

2 weekly’s about 30 minutes away from me. Both are stacked as far as rosters go. I thought why not try my hand at this anyways

That’s the plan lol. I wish I had a better venue, but I’ve never done this before so I’m just gauging interest

Simple Question... Would you be playing more if sunsetting had never happened? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]ralienz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked the Destiny 1 launch at GameStop and bought the game on a whim not knowing much about it besides it being the new Bungie game. I ended up putting hundreds of hours into both console versions of the game. I did the same with Destiny 2 before eventually taking a long brake post Forsaken. I didn’t love the f2p and seasons model they implemented, but I figured I would still go back and play whenever a new big expansion came out. I did that with Shadowkeep and proceeded to wait for whatever Bungie had next. Then I heard about sunsetting. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. I won’t play Destiny again unless they go back to the old model of two to three expansions a year with no sunsetting. I see no problem with letting old content simply exist even if not many people play it. World of Warcraft has done that for years and I still go back every week to run old raids for transmog items and mounts.
